I can provide a Vector file whether it's .eps or .ai file. However I do not have an original badge so the measurements probably are not 100% to the OEM badge.

UPDATE:
I got my email back and assuming we want OEM quality these won't be cheap even if we get 10pcs ordered. It's looking about $35/emblem. That is if I send them an OEM one and they make it 2 tone just like the OEM badges are. Let me know and if we should go ahead with it.

I would like it to be almost identical to the 6.3 badge minus the 6.3 and with the 5.5 addition. I'm down with $70 providing that they provide a mock up that we can all see before I commit. Also it should be pretty much the same as the 6.3 with the correct two tone black and chrome.

Ok I will have them done exactly like OEM (size depth etc) just with 5.5 and 3.2 instead of the 6.3. The only thing I need to clarify is if these are going to fit on all of our fenders. I'm affraid the OEM might not curve to our body lines. Give me one day to run and get the 6.3 and I'll throw it on my car to make sure. If it all fits I will post a thread for a group buy once I get the A-OK from the mods.
Maybe we should add $1-2 a piece to each to get a free set for slowrey.
As for the final $$$ amount I will post it in the group thread. Like I said, we may be able to get these cheaper. I do not plan on making .01 on these.

I'm not the law or a tattle tale, but has anyone considered copyright infringements? I would think that by including "AMG" in the design, it would infringe upon their copyright. I like the idea, just don't want to see anyone get in any trouble over it.

Plus, you know you have the worst luck in the world if you get in trouble for putting a $30 badge on your otherwise $30k+ car. Much worse things have happened in more more provocative ways.
But yes, good point so don't get me wrong.

Good point, but considering we OWN AMG cars, and considering our engine is 5.5 L as stated by Mercedes, I don't see an issue. I mean people debadge their cars sand put labels on it that does not even pertain to the car. Like some passing of a E46 330i as an M3, or some civics say their engine is a DOHC VTec while it's a just an SOHC and not even a vtec. These are also 'copyright' issue for obvious reasons. Also, one must consider the whole industry that exists for aftermarket products with brand name logos on it, such as non-mercedes AMG license plate covers, door pins, gear shift knobs, etc... Mercedes 'wants' this industry to exist for sheer advertising and exposure. Hence, this is no different.

The aftermarket scene is fine, but if you started selling Brabus door pins from out of your garage, that's copyright infringement if Brabus didn't give you the OK to do so--and give them their cut of the revenue or a license fee.

I'm not a lawyer either, but I think quicksilver's point is that someone is making money on the AMG badge and MB is not getting a cut. MB probably doesn't even want people making MB emblems that might not meet their "brand filter".

Then I'm curious, what do people do who openly sell AMG branded after market products that are not from AMG? I mean they use the same font, the same and other colors..why they even say 'this is near AMG you won't tell the difference, but save hundreds'. Do they have a connection with AMG or MB where they get a share of their cut? I highly doubt that. So if not, how are they still in business so openly. Yes your points are absolutely valid, but the fact is, there are just so many people doing it and no one gets prosecuted for it, what does that tell you? To me it's involutary marketing which is big part of the their business.

Yep for sure, especially the Brabus example.

I know that some companies are very aggressive defending their copyrights and others less so. Depending on how the senior executives look at it, some corps may allow a certain level of non-licensed merchandise in market before making a stink about it. If your firm has outside counsel making $500 per hour, you might not want them to bother with small time infringement since the risk/reward scale is not in your favor. Maybe this is how MB looks at it.
But I'm sure there are others who will go after every last unlicensed product distributor.

I'm down for a set too ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
From all the replies it sure looks like there is plenty of interest. And since there really is no such thing as a 5.5 AMG, Mother Benz would have a challenge defending a copyright of something that doesn't exist
So I say start cutting emblems!

I posted another thread still at the top of the page oops! I should have the first set of the 5.5 shortly. They are going to ship after the Chinese return to work. If they seem OEM quality I will post up true pics on my car and start the ordering. I'm getting excited!
As for the copyright- I have no idea but we do own AMG cars so I doubt MB could be that upset. I know the Mercedes logo would be TM infringement but that hasn't stopped anyone either.
