5.5 AMG badge idea
I actually would want 2 please. Thanks.
I got my email back and assuming we want OEM quality these won't be cheap even if we get 10pcs ordered. It's looking about $35/emblem. That is if I send them an OEM one and they make it 2 tone just like the OEM badges are. Let me know and if we should go ahead with it.
Maybe we should add $1-2 a piece to each to get a free set for slowrey.
As for the final $$$ amount I will post it in the group thread. Like I said, we may be able to get these cheaper. I do not plan on making .01 on these.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Plus, you know you have the worst luck in the world if you get in trouble for putting a $30 badge on your otherwise $30k+ car. Much worse things have happened in more more provocative ways.
But yes, good point so don't get me wrong.

The aftermarket scene is fine, but if you started selling Brabus door pins from out of your garage, that's copyright infringement if Brabus didn't give you the OK to do so--and give them their cut of the revenue or a license fee.

Then I'm curious, what do people do who openly sell AMG branded after market products that are not from AMG? I mean they use the same font, the same and other colors..why they even say 'this is near AMG you won't tell the difference, but save hundreds'. Do they have a connection with AMG or MB where they get a share of their cut? I highly doubt that. So if not, how are they still in business so openly. Yes your points are absolutely valid, but the fact is, there are just so many people doing it and no one gets prosecuted for it, what does that tell you? To me it's involutary marketing which is big part of the their business.

I know that some companies are very aggressive defending their copyrights and others less so. Depending on how the senior executives look at it, some corps may allow a certain level of non-licensed merchandise in market before making a stink about it. If your firm has outside counsel making $500 per hour, you might not want them to bother with small time infringement since the risk/reward scale is not in your favor. Maybe this is how MB looks at it.
But I'm sure there are others who will go after every last unlicensed product distributor.
From all the replies it sure looks like there is plenty of interest. And since there really is no such thing as a 5.5 AMG, Mother Benz would have a challenge defending a copyright of something that doesn't exist
So I say start cutting emblems!

As for the copyright- I have no idea but we do own AMG cars so I doubt MB could be that upset. I know the Mercedes logo would be TM infringement but that hasn't stopped anyone either.
