New C32 Intake

Can't Install until I get the M113K Air Boxes and Inlet Hoses, but I hope it fits.
Since the M113K Air Boxes fit the C32, I figured this will fit on top of them too.
Attached is a pic of AWDman's SL55 Setup.

15-20 hp according to VRUS. I'd be happy with 10.

The idea is to create a 100% pure carbon fiber airbox with a similar design to the Renntech box that is sold for $3,800. Renntech claims that their box adds 15 - 20hp.

yeap, robert, I thought about doing that for fun, but that doesnt work for us, our engine bay is much "packed" than the SRTs.

dunno...i MUCH prefer mine and the $1000 in my pocket!

the diffierence in HP twix this and the full SL55 kit will be minimal, and next to nothing on stock cars.

i'd get headers instead.

$0.02

Yeah, but I got mines for less than $1000

VRP claims a 18hp gain going from the SL55 setup to this. They say the Y-Splitter is restrictive. Although the C32 Y-Splitter is even more restrictive.

With Stage 1, I think I might see some gains...and it puts me closer to stage 2. Just need headers and I'm there.

BTW, did the SL55 airboxes attach right to the engine or did it require some modification?
Can you put the C32 engine cover on while you have the SL55 Boxes?

if the sl55 gives 15hp over stock and your setup gives + 18hp that means 30+ hp over stock??? hard to believe....the sl55 y pipe is no restrictive imo.

BTW, did the SL55 airboxes attach right to the engine or did it require some modification? yes- you have to trim the left airbox to clear the oil cap and have to trim some metal where the original c32 airboxes were inserted. you'll see when you do it. have a dremel mototool handy with cutting wheel.

yes, but not pretty. i didn't care either way just left it off.

Yes, most of us with the full 55 intake are not using the cover. There are plenty of threads here discussing the topic. One guy bought a 55 cover and made it work but still not as flush. I tried molding the 55 cover into the 32 cover but the project was a failure.

This set up looks like it will gain some HP. the stock position of the c32 intake just for the AMG's look, it sits on top of our " Headers" soaks heat and HOT AIR in to our TB. jesus AMG tunning.

This link here has some hard numbers based on the prototype. It looks to be very promising.

This project is a No-Go. We don't have the clearance between the TB and Firewall that the E55 and SL55's do.
