C32 owners are rather rediculous. I'm not sayiing your car isn't cool or is inferior or anthing else. I am just saying who cares when it's irrelevant to the conversation- butt out about c32 stuff. Not everything on this board has to involve a c32! I'm not intersted in being a moderator.
its irrelevant to the conversation you want to have maybe....but this is a shared (c32/55) board aint it?
look you have a cool car......and so do i....errr..well mine may be a bit cooler no?

anyway......lighten up dude.....it's JUST CARS!

lol MIR has no magic and if u read it was 92+ outside and that the DA at 2500+, i can guarantee those times can be equaled on street tires in better weather, DR's are going to help the ET and hurt the MPH, its a "mid 12 low one teen car" in better weather on street tires. The last thing I am going to do is speculate about how a C63 will run since we dont have the hard data yet, I listed Craigs data as a fast NA C55 for comparison.

wow your old c32 is cooler than my c55 which you know absolutely nothing about? It's comments like that, that just show your inferiority complex. I don't even go there, nor do I need to. I will yet again waste my time no further with another c32 owner.

However the topic is C55 vs. C63. Not the C32 so the quips about the C32 makes this thread a long, useless post with no value because it's full of off topic items.

Sorry that the thread has been hijacked. But when SPR goes off the deep end, it's like watching a train wreck. Messy but entertaining. Only regret that it's late Friday and we'll all be moving on to better things soon.

What kind of wheels are those in the rear?

AS for the comparasion, who really cares.. C32 / C55 has its own Pros / Cons.. Don't need to argue which one is better or worse...

To help put things further into perspective, the day that Craigs C55 ran a best of 12.56@110.98 there was a bone stock E63 on street tires that ran a best of 12.78@111.14

we agree on this.. this is all speculation..

thread was good as debate.. but too early to really have hard facts on the C63.

Heres the mod list you would need:

- High flow header
- high flow cats
- ev*sport accessory pulley system
- AMS Crank pulley
- Performance intake system (one that actually makes power, not a fancy stock looking CF one)
- mechanical fan delete (replace w/ Spal fan)
- performance software
- 150lbs removed will really help out.

That should get you very close, you should be able to hang, whether it would be a dead tie (or even slightly faster) who knows but it would sure be a damn good race.

The weight for a c55 is right about 3700. Maybe that helped.

Here's another data point, C63 is expected to run 12.8 1/4 mile. New E92 M3 is running 12.8 to 12.9 so maybe that's about right, these cars seem evenly matched. I've heard of several C55s running 12.5 - 12.6 with bolt-ons and no FI. Maybe the bigger motor and mega-torque will put the new w204 AMG in the 12.6 or 12.7 range but if so, then it's still conceivable.

I think he does because when I looked under his hood he had no mechanical fan. He had an electric one. But I have a feeling the newer cars come like that.

Some models have the electric fan, others don't. My 2001 ML55 has the electrical fan and my 2002 CLK55 has the mechanical fan. I haven't tried to retrofit one, but I am betting that you could. It wouldn't be cheap though as the fan assembly alone is pricey.

If a C55 with just headers, ecu, airbox, resonator delete, and under-drive pullies can do a 12.5 @ 112 on DOT tires in over 90 degree weather then that seems to prove a non-FI C55 with basic bolt-ons CAN run with a stock C63 even if it is under-rated--all gearing advantages included. I will be very surprised if the stock C63s run any better than 12.6 or 12.7 @ 110 to 112 (which is quick-as-schit by the way). I guess we'll have to wait and see when they hit the street what they do in the 1/4. Either way, I am sure they both will trap out much higher than the new E92 M3 MBW.

The mechanical fan delete is very popular amongst the bmw crowd and has been done for MANY years. In addition to this you can run a 5-8 degree cooler thermostat and a lower auxilary fan swithc (also about 5-10 degrees cooler). Infact on the E36 M3s many will delete it and run no replacement fan of any kind, the lower aux fan switch & thermostat will more than compensate. The results aren't huge on the dyno but the overall engine feel is drastically different, alot more rev happy, almost like a mini-lightweight flywheel type mod.

How much more does the C63 engine weigh than the C55 engine (engines + accessory drives only, not considering other chassis differences)? Has the forward weight bias worsened considerably from W203 to W204?
