I've never been to a drag strip and I've always wondered: What kind...

.... of reaction do you get from the "old school" drag racers in their jacked up, stripped out, V8 muscle car monsters when a suave, comfortable Mercedes comes out and posts a time that beat their dedicated drag car?

It must be eye-opening to them. The parallel for road courses is when a relatively affordable Vette Z06 runs faster than a fully prepared race car.

I rarely get a negative reaction from any of the old-school guys. It usually takes a low-12 on the big board to crack the ice, and eventually a few saunter over and strike up a conversation.

Drag racers on the whole (all racers, really) are a great bunch. The only time I've ever had a problem with tools growing legs was at an import night.

PS: The E55 likes the road courses too.

I'm speechless.

Both the drag and track vids are GREAT. I am very impressed with the capabilities of ChicagoX's E55.

I loved the lap at Road America, where you passed what looked like an M6 and M3! Sweet.

Jerry, I really love the way your car sounded on the Strip vids.
