Pioneer Avic Navi...

Hey guys looking to buy an avic for my 05 c55. I'm looking at either the avicd3, z1, or z2. I know a few of you have each one. Please tell me why i should pay double the d3 for the z1 and another 200-300 more for the z2. I like the z1 the best... Please give me any pros and cons if you could i'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance...

P.S. anyone know a good installer in the chicago land area i can trust to do this install???

Personally I have the D3, and love it. I wasn't a fan of the motorized units, as I have seen a great deal of issues with them (used to be an installer) and they have a tendancy to cover up the airvents when deployed.

That and the fact that you can get a new d3 for around 650 was the sure bet for me.

If it were me, get the d3 with the xm/sat traffic module, bluetooth module, backup cam, ipod cable, and still come off cheaper then the z units

In chicago I like mobilefx in lombard.

The Z1 and Z2 are the same unit with different software. I upgraded my Z1 to a Z2 (pretty much just new maps). My unit has never once froze.

I have the the iPod interface, XM w/ NavTraffic, TV tuner, back up cam, and bluetooth interface. I love the unit.

The D3's color changing buttons are very nice.

I personally mounted mine right to the right of the license plate, and I picked it up off ebay for 30 bucks

yup, any cam will work, as long as it has rca out.

Many options avaliable....tap the reverse wire from the tail-light if needed, its pretty easy.

I used a Pioneer camera, but there are many options. I had mine painted body color, and mounted it right above the license plate (very close to the trunk release spot).

Can someone tell me where I can get the car adapter for the Pioneer D3. Also, where can I get the directions for DIY for install ? Do I need to change the speakers and also the wires ?
