Supercharger clutch being replaced today. Under warranty.

S/c Clutch got very noisy in the last few weeks (probably triggered by the cold weather). 52,000 miles.

I also asked them to check on the memory function for my mirrors -- the passengers side mirror seems to have a mind of its own. The response back was that there were a bunch of "low voltage" codes in the computer, so they recommend changing the battery.

They quote $300 to install a battery. I decline and will do it myself. Geez.

Anyone know what "Group Size" battery fits the C32?

PS: My loaner is a 2007 C230 Sport

C230 sport (white) with the full AMG body kit including AMG exhaust tips. It has the macho looking blocky wheels and a nice ride height.

What a nice commuter car. Given how rarely I ever use the extra 150HP, I could probably live quite nicely with a C230.

the battery is a group 49. I feel ya with the new c230. I've been abusing a late production 07 Mars Red with about 1500 mi on it, and I've now put over 4500 on it within the past couple of weeks. The latest 07's have something changed in the ECU to where you don't have to stomp the gas to get it to move, it's as if they added a sprint booster, feels like all the power is on tap where it should be! I've been thinking about doing the Code3smith "Odyssey swap out" for the battery and using the space for his reservoir. but given that winter is around the corner, I don't think it will be really necessary. Boy, I wish MB used that interior in the 02-04 C-Classes!

Gee. If I could only get 15 minutes with my car AND the loaner, my battery problem would be solved.

i know someone posted a while ago about the odyssey battery replacement... kind of like the mini battery kits from buschur racing (who does Evo parts) same as the odyssey and pretty sure they just pull the odyssey stickers off and replace them with theirs but ... thats all besides the fact... you can use the mini odyssey battery

But you can put in a different battery for far less and that is true. But if OEM is your desire the swap is going to be pricey.

Yeah, I'm not looking for battery bragging rights. It's a block of toxic ***** that starts the car. I don't need anything fancy.

Since the C32 is not likely to see a track again, I'm not looking to save weight either. I'll just go with some off-the-shelf lump.

Pepboys, sells the Bosch B49-850, which is exact drop in replacement. The cost was $94, but there is a $10 core charge for your old battery. It bolts in using the stock bracket and fits perfectly. It feels lighter than the old white, Varta, though.

Question: Will disconnecting my battery screw up my radio or anything else? Do I need one of those cigarette lighter boosters?

now changing the battery is that going to fix the mirror issue you're having and the low voltage codes?

I doubt it. I'm not going to replace the battery right away. It's functioning fine as far as I can tell.
