New C55 owner - Got a few questions
Hi all,
Well I have had a few days with my C55 now and have come up with a few questions that I cannot find in the books.
1. In my C32 can choose how the menu up/down buttons work with the radio. So taht they either change frequency or change momory stations. I would like them to change memory stations but I cannot figure out how to do it. There is no menu option I can find and am not able to find anyting in the manuals.
2. The headlights. They stay whether I choose manual or constant in the setup menu choices. Is there something else to do?
3. I have the NAV and the system can play MP3 CDs. The manual says that the MP3 menu should show a folder soft button so taht I can navigate the folders. I get a magazing soft button instead so I can switch beween the CDs in the changer but it treats all MP3 files as if they were all in the same directory. Am I doing something wrong that is preventing me from seeing the "folders" soft button? Do I need to get the NAV upgraded?
4. I just bought the 2007.1 NAV DVD. I should have it in a couple days. I remember when I did a similar upgrade to my C32 it loaded new firmware. Might my problem #3 be resolved witht he new firmware?
5. Anyone have experience with the Ipod interface for the C55? Will I see the artists/folders? Will I see the song lists and can I move up and down through them?
Thanks
Joe

I can answer only a few so here goes:
1. All 2005 and newer C-classes including AMG are like this. In Star Diagnose there is a menu for activating presets instead of scanning but IT DOES NOT WORK when you try it. This subject was well discussed in the archives.
2. It is possible that daytime running headlights are activated. I am not sure if this is a Star Diagnose fix or not.
3. MP3 reading was something new in the 06's. I cannot comment if the new Nav disc will resolve your issue.
4. I have the iPod interface. It only shows the song info on the center console. it plays NOTHING on the Command head unit nor can you control anything from the Command. All your searching comes from the steering wheel controls. It is a basic and not highly user friendly system. I'm ok with it but for sure not impressed.

Thanks Nuvolari,
One more question. I get no sound from the car when I lock or unlock it. Any idea how to enable that?
I tried to do a few searches to find the info but no luck.
Thanks
Joe

I had the "lock/unlock beep" activated at the dealer free of charge. They will probably not charge you if it is in for service.
