Will these fit?

I went to a website and it lists these to fit my car but does not say they won't fit my rear rims. Does this sound crazy?

Nitto 555r 315/35R-17

Better yet has anyone fitted larger then a 255/40/17 on their OEM rear rim with no issues? I am trying to get either BF Goodrich G-force T/A Drag Radials or Nitto 555R Drag radials but both are starting roughly in the 275 size and none at or about 245/40/17.

Thanks!

These are the sizes from Nitto so I guess not but they show a 245/45/17 would that fit my rear rims?

a 315 is a bit of a stretch for your car. I think you would need at least a 10" wheel

Did you use the 245/45/17?

Wow 285s? I worry anything higher then 255s thinking they will be not fully flat on the ground do you think 245/45/17 would do fine?

245/45 17s should work, but are a bit bigger in overall diameter (and, consequently, circumference) than stock 245/40s.

Larger overall diameter might help slightly if you're having traction issues at launch, as it effectively makes your gearing a bit taller. In theory, taller gearing should hurt acceleration, but who knows until you try, right?

rlee - I'm surprised that someone fit a 285 width on an 8.5 inch wide stock rim... wouldn't it "mushroom" too much over the wheel, losing the optimal contact patch?

285 is a lot for a 8.5 width wheel

Ah, okay... I misunderstood you. OP is trying to fit xxx/xx-17 rear tires to his OEM 17's (i.e. 17 x 8.5)

Yes they did fit but we did hours of fender work to make them fit. Before the work it turned a set of tires into scrap.

We had to:

1) Fully roll the lip
2) Pull the fender out about 1/2-3/4 of an inch at the widest point
3) Grind the joint of the bumper and fender down totally flush
4) Relocate the bolt holding the bumper and fender together rearwards an inch
5) roll the portion of the fender below the belt line to the area below the rear door inwards 60 degrees or so
6) Flare that same portion below the rear door outwards about 1/2-3/4 of an inch in a "wide-body" style. (looked pretty aggressive)

At that point the 285s fit.

If you saw the smashing it took to make the wheels fit you would say it did not fit. We were wailing on the car for hours with mallets making people wonder if we had lost our minds.

Those tires were going to fit on the car for that track day if it was the last thing we did. I wish we had video footage of that wonderful day.

Oh and we never cracked the paint!

The front fenders were a different story.

Rather than starting a new post on this I thought I would just post here. These questions pertain to a C32

1) Just want to confirm that 225-45's will fit with no problems on both the rear and front stock wheels? If I do not buy a winter set of wheels I may just put winter 225's-45's tires on on 4 stock wheels. Then buy a set of C55 wheels for the summer

2) Looks like 265-40's will fit on the rear stock rim plus no rolling the fenders?

3) I was looking at the spring in the front suspesion and it looks like it is only an inch above the top of the front tire. Just by looking it does not seem and 18" rim would clear that spring because of height. If it does clear are there any rubbing issue with height with that spring/coil?
