Low mileage 2002 C32 maintenance

Hi,
This is my first post (several replies but first real post.)

I'm living in South Korea and I imported a 2002 C32 from Japan. . .the C32 was never officially imported in Korea so the only way to get them was to import them yourself.

The broker found a peach of a car with only 17,000 kilometers (roughly 11,000 miles) and full service history from the Japanese dealer (Yanase if anyone know anything about the Japanese market.)

The car was only got driven a little over 3,000 kilometers a year and received servicing once year (mainly oil change and filter change and lubrication of joints.)

Now my question is the car is about five years old (it was titled in November 23 of 2002) so there must be things that I need to replace or look after irregardless of mileage: ie. spark plugs? tranny fluid? fuel filter?

Thanks for your help!

Josh

With it having roughly 11k miles I can't see anything being changed yet even though its 5 years old.

I agree , i think it will be a while before anything will need to be replaced, so you are safe. Can you post pics?

Sounds like you have a gem there! I bet there aren't too many 11K '02 specimens out there!

As alluded to by the previous posts - there probably can't be too much wrong. Mind you, if it were me, I would probably change all fluids since they may have been sitting a while. Especially check out the transmission fluid - have it changed and check the old ATF for glycol contamination. Check to see if you have the Valeo radiator.

Josh,

since i am very picky about everything on my vehicle, if it were me buying that car, i would change the fuel filter and flush the tranny fluid as well...this is not necessary, but i would do it for peace of mind so that you can enjoy a long ownership with your new purchase...

You need to atleast get the coolant and brake fluid flushed. That should be done every two years or so. I would also suggest the tranny. For what it is going to cost it is cheap insurance. That should be done every two years or so.

if you do the coolant, make sure you use the MB brand for the C32...you don't want to put the green stuff in there...

Thanks!

Thanks for all your replies!
I'll make sure that they pay attention to the items mentioned.
I hope the shop has the MB coolant and not the greenstuff as well.

I'll try to post pics of my car when I get a chance to wash it. . .I haven't even had the chance to put some Zymol on her yet
