In regards to the comparison of C32 to other sedans with V8's, I4's or what have you, the question was asked whats a faster 4 door car so people simply answered.

hey everyone, i am the guy who posted the thread, and yup I didnt realize that there were sooo many cars up there with that quickness. To clarify, I was asking about stock (direct from factory, no modifications) 4 door regular production cars, like m5 RS6... but basically, my question got answered...so thanks everyone.

wait so that means... aside from RS6 and new 2003 MB V-8s and V-12s, it is the fastest automatic, and slk32?? (;->

Quite a while ago I read something similar on the M5 forum about the fastest 4 door sedan on the planet. (yes, I considered buying an M5, but the dealer never gave me a chance.) Anyway, the M5 ads claimed it was the fastest sedan in the world at the time it was launched. So folks from Britain (if i remember it correctly) challenged this claim with machines like LanEvos and WRX's: STi, P1.... Quite a lot of M5 owners went to event, despite BMW's threat of voiding the attendees' warrenty. Result: the M5's got swiped out completely. I know this is not a fair competition as the challengers are mostly tunned. However, it neverthless proved a point that BMW should shut the ***k up about claiming their cars being the fastest.

Lexus made this claim when the GS400 first came out. So it's just not BMW, I'm sure the lead will change every time a new model or some new car comes out.

come on now, you can't bring tuned cars into the equation when trying to determine the fastest four door car in the world.... you know they meant production car.... meaning stock...

and yes, the GS400, was the "fastest, quickest, four door car with an automatic transmission in the world" when it came out.... they specifically said "automatic" because the 540i with the 6 speed was faster....

I sold my GS400 for the C32....

and now the C32 is probably the quickest four door in the world.... with an automatic, that is... until new E55 and S55 arrive...

enjoy it while you can

It is the fastest four door automatic (production that is) but as mentioned, it will be knocked off the throne in about 4 months by several others including the RS6. I hear several things about it. Some say it will be in the 4.5 second category to 60 while others say it wont break 5 seconds. I havent encountered any other four door car (automatic) that can come close to keeping up. Well.... that S600 was on my tail pretty good though. :p
Im gonna enjoy this car for a long long time....

AutoCar reported the C32 as 4.6s and numerous other car magazines have reported 4.8.
