decal

Hey, I am looking for a replacement of our decal that says: "Mercedes Benz and ///AMG recommend Mobil one". This decal is made of paper, and it is fraying at the ends. It is located under the hood near the top of the radiator. I went to the dealer and he said he couldn’t order a new one because he does not have a part number. I went on line and found nothing.

Dose anyone else have their decal peeling off? Maybe one of the sponsors has these?

Mine is peeling off as well. Good idea and I would be very interested in a replacement.

Or you can peel it off and leave it off. Stickers are worthless, just added weight.

I just put an offer in on one of the ebay decals. One guy has 5 of them at $6.99 (buy it now) or Make an offer. It looks good except that it is Black and White. My original decal (or what's left of it) has the "Mobil 1" in color.

Hold up, Scott. The OE sticker has a MSRP of $3.20
It has thus far proven to be the least expensive AMG part I’ve purchased!

*OT content*
My parts guy, as he customarily does, beat that by 25%. He has supplied several big-ticket items, but never fails to take care of me on the little stuff, either. Once, he overnighted from the east coast a (critical) ~$25 piece with no additional handling charge. I gladly give him a nice bottle of wine at Christmas, along with some treats the Mrs. bakes. If MBLN gives you any trouble, let me know and I’ll send you one pronto.

eBay Germany

Search ebay Germany for "AMG" or C32. I bought mine from a German seller and 2 cost me about $12. delivered. This might be more expensive than buying one in the States, but I could not find one last year when looking. Good luck.

I was told by my dealer that he could not order the decal because there was not a part number for it. All the other decals under the hood have a small number written somewhere on it, but this decal did not. I placed my e-bay order and I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail.

It is unconscionable that the dealership’s parts department employee could not get a decal for you.

Here's how I’d envision your dreadful experience:

Customer: "Hi, I would like to buy a part."
Employee: "Umm, yeah, okay, what model?"

C: “It’s a ’03 C32”
E: “Oh, you mean C320?”

C: “No, It’s a C32 AMG!”
E: “Umm, what year?”

C: “2003”
E: “What’s the VIN?”

C: “I’m not sure, I just need a Mobil1 decal.”
E: “Hey man, we don’t sell stickers.”

C: “I just want a replacement for the one that came with the car.”
E: “Why?”

C: “It has deteriorated from heat and exposure to the elements.”
E: “A sticker huh, what’s it say?”

C: “It’s on the radiator support. It’s imprinted: MB & AMG recommend Mobil1.”
E: “Doesn’t yours already have one?”

C: “Yes, but it looks like the dickens and I take pride in my car’s appearance.”
E: “Wait, you got a C class?!”

C: “Please, I’d just like to buy a new decal.”
E: “What’s the part number?”

C: “I don’t know. Don’t you have that information available?”
E: “Umm, no.”

C: “Do you work here?”
E: “Yeah, but only for a couple of years…”

C: “I’ll check with the guys on MBW, they know what’s up.”
E: “Hey man, there’s no need to get upset.”

C: “Can you even fog a mirror?”
E: “Next!”

Any members in good standing who would like a fresh decal are welcome to send a PM, and I’ll mail you one at cost. The holiday season is upon us, so I’d like to do a little something for the faithful.

Well I got my new decal today, it's a bit different than the original one but instead of being made out of paper it's more of a plastic sticker.

Original One

New One
