TSX Projectors
I've seen one or two threads with people talking about putting in the TSX projectors into their C32. Has anybody actually done it and have pictures of it? I'd like to see how it came out.
What I'm thinking of doing is trying to obtain some of the black-backed depo housings and put in TSX projectors. Should give the best of both worlds that way. The nice looking black headlights and a good light pattern...right?
Appreciate any comments / suggestions. Right now I'm on standard halogen and looking to convert to bi-x.
Thanks!

Just judging off the pictures, it does look like a set of tsx projectors would be possible.
Just to let you know, tsx projectors are not bi-xenon. They are single xenon. You need to look at TL or FX projectors for bi-xenon feature.
The tsx projectors will be superior when compared to the oem bi-xenon. The cut off on the tsx is sharper and will give off more color at the cut off.
Usually the hids in japanese cars are superior then the german ones. The mercedes projectors are on the lower end of the hid projector world.
S2000 projectors are probably the best single xenon and LS460 projectors are probably the best bi-xenon.
I think this website would be more helpful in your questions.

i know its possible.
i had e46 bi-xenons on my civic and i have tsx projectors on my jdm integra.
I really love the cut off of the tsx projectors. I kinda want the s2000 projectors because they offer more fore ground lighting.
But i'm waiting on getting rims and tires before hids.

I have tried this with the black Depo headlights and TSX projectors and basically gave up on it. I found that the halogen projector on these Depo's is so thin that it would be hard to fit the TSX or really any other OEM HID projector in there without having to cut some black material out. Then to be able to fit a shroud and make it look good was goint to be too hard.
I only had TSX's on hand to test fit and some SC430's which are much bigger...but maybe a thinner projector like the E46, FX, or Valeo might have a chance.
I ended up putting the TSX's in my Supra which was an easy retrofit.

I bought TSX projectors to put into DEPO headlight, and I can tell you they do not fit, I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out making brackets with the Dremel. ..... they are too wide. I put the required dimensions up on the HIDPlanet forums, and they suggested the Bosch E-Codes, I bought a set of them, and they fitted. The job was pretty easy if you are game enough to put your headlight assembly in the oven and heat it up until the glue holding the lens on melts.
The light output of the E-codes are amazing, I also did the colour mod on them, so it emits a crazy amount of colour at the top of the light cutoff, so your lights appear to have that really cool flicker of color at the top of your beam, which is what other people see, but still the optimum light output of 4200K HIDS on the road.

Lots of replies, thanks everybody. Too bad the TSX projectors won't work...the cutoff on them is really nice. The white to blue fading through purple, I love it.
So the FX projectors might fit - and they're bi-xenon as well? How would they compare against the Bosch E-Code's I wonder?
Or, if the LS460 are the best...would they fit?
Thanks everybody.

If you want Bi-xenon I would do either the FX or the Bosch E46.
I would say the easiest fit would be the Bosch E46 based on how slim it is, and you have a better chance of retaining the shroud without cutting much if any at all.
The FX projector is much better though especially if modified with a clear lens.

looking at the dimensions of the projectors. The s2000's might fit.
Acura TSX Low Beam (Stanley):
Diameter = 71.05mm
Height = 85.30mm
Width = 120.80mm
Length = 156.45mm
Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 42.00mm
Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 96.95mm
Width(between top mounting holes) = 100.45mm
Width(between bottom mounting holes) = 103.45mm
Height(between mounting holes) = 41.50mm
Hella 2nd Gen Bi-Xenon (aka E55):
Diameter = 79.80mm
Height = 96.95mm
Width = 106.15mm
Length = 163.35mm
Length(seat of the lens to possible mounting holes) = 58.80mm
Length(possible mounting holes to end of bulb) = 83.90mm
Width(between top mounting holes) = 77.25mm
Width(between bottom mounting holes) = 93.25mm
Height(between mounting holes) = 58.90mm
Infinity FX35/45 Bi-Xenon (aka FX):
Diameter = 69.20mm
Height = 105.10mm
Width = 111.80mm
Length = 150.70mm
Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 54.60mm
Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 72.10mm
Mounting hole distances are not measured beacuse most people
would make their own and cut-off stock brackets.
Bosch Bi-Xenon (aka E46):
Diameter = 78.30mm
Height = 84.10mm
Width = 105.00mm
Length = 166.95mm
Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 66.65mm
Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 80.70mm
Width(between top mounting holes) = 82.00mm
Width(between bottom mounting holes) = 95.10mm
Height(between mounting holes) = 62.10mm
Honda S2000 Low Beam (Koito):
Diameter = 71.70mm
Height = 105.60mm
Width Trimmed = 113.50mm
Length = 135.30mm
Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 41.40mm
Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 93.90mm
Mounting hole distances are not measured beacuse most people
would make their own and cut-off stock high beam bracket, width is measured as trimmed.
As you can see the tsx are the widest.
The basics dimensions of the fx projectors and s2000 projectors are similar.
The s2000's seem only a little bit wider then the bi-xenon e46 but a lot taller.

Well, only thing left now is the housings. Sent off payment today for the following:
Infiniti FX Bi-Xenon Projectors
Color modded lenses (puts out blue flare like the TSX lens)
6000K Bulbs
And some aftermarket ballasts. $340 shipped. Now I just need the black depo housings to mount this all in.
Hope those pictures work.

oh yeah, when you open up the housing can you take measurements of the spacing. i just want to see if i can squeeze some s2000's in there.

You should get some 4300K bulbs. They are much brighter than the 6000K's. You would still get the blue/purple color at the cutoff that everybody likes while illuminating the road much more.

TemjinX2: Sure, I can do that. Just trying to find the housings at a good price first.
Suprasv: Really? In comparisons the 4300K's look yellower than the 6000's. I was trying to go with what appeared to be the whitest color temp.
Thanks!

I agree with the 4300K ... no one sees the light on the road, and the 4300K are much brighter than the 6000k .... the light that makes the colour that you see is at the cutoff, which is mostly independant of the tempreture rating of the bulb....... 4300K is the way to go for sure, the drop of in road illumination is dramatic, and the cutt-off colour/flicker is the same ..... I have had both and would not go back to 6000K.

Most definitely I would go with 4300K!
I tried the 6000K's and 4300K's on my old W202 C class the 4300K's had much better illumination on the road.
Plus if it rains then it is not too pleasant to drive.
Personally I want to try the 3500K's on the main lights...but I'm afraid it will make my C32 look like a JDM Civic...

does anyone know the dimensions of the depo lens? b/c if you check this site: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/Lens.html they have a 3" lens you can purchase... but im not sure if that would fix the depo hot spots... but they do retro fitting so im sure if you wanted they could do it for you.

4300k has the most lumens out of any of the color range, hence why all the oem cars come with 4300k bulbs.
if you want something more blue you can go with the 5000k, but keep in mind the 4300k will color shift to blue over time.
People think 6000k and 8000k is brighter because the human brain automatically pays more attention to blue and purple over white and yellow.
In terms of actual particles of light, 4300k has more.
i would recommend against using 3500k as your main driving lights. The lumens on 3500 is a lot lower then 4300k and you won't light up as much of the road.
3500k is better for fog lights since the light doesn't get reflected as much with the darker yellow and the lower lumens from the water particles.

Bringing back an old thread. I saw where TemjinX2 was installing his projectors and it reminded me... I've been on the lookout for black DEPO housings for quite a while but could only find eagle eye. After seeing his thread I looked and found a set on ebay which got here today.
I'll be taking pictures of them tonight and get some pics of the install of the Infiniti FX projectors with the color modded lenses. I'll get before & after of the car as well. Can't wait!
