19" wheels on c32 amg

i recently purchased 19" EXE KONVEX wheels for my c32. they are the staggered fitment, 19x8.5 in the front (clearing the AMG calipers) and 19x9.5 in the rear. but i encountered a problem, their was this loud clicking noise coming from the rear wheels when i started driving. so i parked it. does anyone know what it might be..? will i need spacers..?

sounds like you need shorter wheel lugs(bolts). dismount the wheel and compare how much lug thread protudes from back of wheel face for stock vs the new wheel. when the wheel is off look into the lug holes you may see scoring inside where the lugs were making contact.

your rear offset should be around 35mm. also check that the wheel spokes aren't touching the caliper..........but bolts are the most likely culprit.

sounds like the lugs are too long and they are hitting the parking brake.

measure and find out what length you need and then order from PureMS.com

you could fix it by adding spacers, but be very careful and check the offsets...it'll probably rub if they stick out more.

I'm having the same problem, but it's intermittent - which is really driving me crazy. Some times I hear the clear ticking, sometimes nothing. And I am talking about low speeds (less that 10MPH). I am aware that at high speeds you can't hear anything. Does this make sense?

Grind off cailpers wow... never heard of this one b4. Should check for the correct offset before purchasing. 37mm front 32mm rear stock c32 offset, 35mm also fit the C32 front and rear. I Have 19's with no issues whatsoever.

good news guys, we fixed the problem. it was what AWDman and RLEE02135 said about the lug nuts hitting the parking brake indside the rotors cus they were too long. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR EXPERTISE..! DKFLIPSE you might have the same problem. you should look into it.

depends on the wheel
best fitment for 8.5 width on the front is 28-31 offset.
best fitment for 9.5 width on the rear is 35-38 offset.

stock offset is for a 7.5 width rim on the front and 8.5 rim on the rear.

sorry for the quick draw, but it's pretty much the same. that site is too bling and filled with bad info by looking at the recomanded C-class fitment. read my above post on the fitment for the w203 C when you have 8.5 and 9.5 rims.

you should never grind the caliper to make wheels fit. the stock caliper are not high strength forged steel.

Frank--

Am I correct in assuming that fitment you quoted above for 8.5/9.5 F/R would be the same for the C55?

Thanks

Not a Good Picture

OK. For anybody out there that was wondering. When you hear the little clicking noise mentioned in this thread - do not ignore it!

Notice closely and you will see that the rim is completely off the hub!!!!

The rotor is sitting on the inside of the wheel.

The lug nuts are snapped!!

Luckily I was only going 5MPH, cuz I take the turnpike to work daily and do 70 or so. Got the car towed and the rim is OK except for cosmetic damage. But the vendor is replacing it free of charge.

clicking should've been the lugs hitting the parking brakes. those must've been some overtorqued bolts.
