Hello All,
I've decided that I would like to start looking for a used C32 to buy. Any particular years that I should stay away from? Any known recurring issues that I should be aware of?
Thanks,
Allan

Saw this the other day on ebay. Thought it would interest anyone looking for a C32. It looks really nice overall.

Make sure you get an extended warranty on the car if it doesn't come with one. You might want to take that into consideration also for the price of the car. I just renewed my warranty for an extra 3 years for $3900 through my local MB dealer. Parts and labor aren't cheap on this car.. Good luck with your search.

Now for the not great part... the previous owner must have upset someone... the car has key scratches all the way around. We touched up the scratch marks with the proper touchup paint and from five feet away.. you can't even see them... but they are indeed there. I took some close up photos to try to show some of them... but its diffiuclt on white. The cars functions very well so it is simply a cosmetic issue.

buy mine. i've done a number of track days with the car but she's solid and fully sorted. honest 430hp.
i picked up an m3 and need to start setting it up. we have 7 cars for 2 drivers that's a bit much. i need to get something to tow the m3 like a ml320cdi....
my car is on autotrader. also numerous pictures here. pm me we can chat. i didn't mention the track use on the ad preferred to tell folks when they called.

I'd guess a 2004 and the IC pump at 50k miles is known for problems. I was going to upgrade mine but my extended warranty will cover (getting it replaced next week). Aside from that, so far no issues.

6k more to go. To buy or not to buy. Uh so tempting.
Thats what I was thinking before I decided to buy it haha.

ExploreI say every year has somethings particular that were issues but it seems the 2002 seems to have the most known...the body and drivetrain are tough and I really haven't had any drivetrain issues besides the typical tranny jerk and I think its the idler or S/C pulley that went bad and ofcourse the I/C pump(which after repaired I upraded to a Johnson CM30). Buy an extended warranty to cover all this stuff since I bought mine well I found mostly electronic based issues nowhere near as much on the drivetrain. I paid for a 3 year 75k warranty and it already paid itself back within the first six months of ownership.(actually on the first warranty job) Software updates I believe are the 2003 and 2004 have over the 2002 as well as the updated Valeo or Behr radiator. I also read something in the rear drive axles too are changed in the 03/04 models. Its a fun car and if I had to do it again I would still consider the 2002 model year. Good Luck!
