Can anyone give me advice on popping out the OEM orange side markers. Is there any way to pull them off without removing the splash shield? Do they bolt in or just pop out? My clear lenses come tomorrow.

Thank you in advance,
Alex

Just pull it out with your fingernail with a little force. If its too tight, find a flat object which will not damage your paint, tuck it in between marker and inpact strip then pull the marker out.

Thanks a ton. I will post pics when I'm done. I just put the flat MB emblem on the hood and it looks great

I slide the marker all the way towards the back of the car and then pull the front with my fingernails. It has several mils of clearance and it should be enough to disengage the marker shoulder/keeper.

Good luck!!

You can always to remove a side marker light the way I did 6 hours after I bought the C55, hit a bobcat (the feline kind) running across the road while doing 55 mph. You just have to ignore the $4k+ collateral damage.

The "correct" way to do it is described in your owners manual. Front slide back, pop out. It may be tough to do it for the first time because it probably hasn't been popped out since new.

Interesting...... never knew this kind of stuff is described in an owner's manual. Can you post what section and sub-section it was under? I wonder if my car's manual has similar instructions, as I've been thinking about clearing mine as well.

Since I got my C32 in Jersey, I was forced to get it inspected in my home state of PA. I didn't even notice that I had color marked lenses until the shop told me they had to put in the regular side markers to pass. What a difference.
