Dyno results as promised!
Today I got my Evosport headers, and renntech airbox today are here are the results. I also ran a dyno with some race fuel. Rich the owner of Dyno-comp in AZ is a killer guy and hooked me up with a bunch of dyno runs. Install took abit longer than they thought and the airbox did not arrive until 3pm so there is no dyno with just the airbox. There was a 6.6% adjustment with the weather. and Rich the owner of Dyno-Comp says with "his" Dyno Dynamics Dyno driveline loss is 29% and that was agreed upon by all the shop techs. I would say I got some OK gains Was kinda hoping for more but it is what it is here they are....
Base dyno with Renntech ECU, Then Headers+airbox, then all parts with race fule

based on my car having 362 at the crank and my very first dyno i was at 291hp at the wheels few weeks ago. I picked up 40hp at the wheels. that brings my total to 402 if i add the crank hp to the amount i gained at the wheels so what do you think I have for power at the crank now? Dyno comp said some wear around 426 crank HP. Do you think thats about right?

nice gain for sure, but 29% loss is bogus...because if you dynoed 339...29% loss would put you at 477 crank. Unless you had a typo...I'd say you had about 19-20% loss on that particular dyno which puts you around 420 ish crank with the race fuel.

My only gripe with the parts i got is the bang for the buck factor. i picked up 21hp with headers and airbox I was just hoping for a bit more.

That's the downside of a normally aspirated engines is the bang-for-buck factor of bolton mods. The upside being you don't have to wait for anything to spool up to start making power. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have to say though that those numbers are pretty impressive and you should be proud for sure. What's the next step for you? Cams maybe?
Enjoy the car!![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

Looking good Hooleyboy! I wish I lived a little closer to Scottsdale. I would love to have Dyno-Comp re-run my numbers.
By the way, what's the labor cost of having headers installed? And how do they sound?

I wish I had a scanner or even my digi cam thats on loan. with race fuel I picked up 20hp at redline. I'm not really sure were to go from here I want this car to be reliable as its my daily drive. I'm open to suggestions I want to get a safe 10-15 wheel hp more

do you know of anyone running the AMS crank pulley? you might get some power there. as far as reliability, the diameter is the same as factory, so it wont affect your accessories.

hooleyboy,
As always, thanks for posting another informative thread. Just a few questions if you don't mind answering:
How difficult was the installation of the headers? Did they have to undo the engine mounts etc? How long of a job was it to finish?
Most importantly, how does the C55 "feel" now? Can you notice it's a bit quicker now? More low-end grunt or is it more noticeable higher up in the rpms?

Worth every penny. Car responds instantly when you hit the pedal. Extremely light and well made. I got mine for $550 a year back but probably available for$500 now. It takes some effort to get the crank bolt off but Vadim has the tools for that. You will also need a new bolt from the dealer too but don't cost much.

yeah, I know. With how fast the gas is climbing every day at the pump, it looks like im going to put off any more go-fast mods. Clutch sells for $900 @ the dealer. Brandon @ Code3performance said he will be offering rebuilt clutches, so we'll see. For now I can get a couple of more days of fuel usage driving like grandpa without the S/C! If you go let me know! I'd like to come with, just to watch.
