generally follow this standard schedule
http://www.geocities.com/mymercedesb...e_a_and_b.html
you can purchase the topsider clone from http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=45403
for 20 bucks and change your oil with filters for $15 fleece filter from autohausaz.com and proper mobil 1 0w40 mb spec syn from your local napa or even some walmarts.
Brakes and rotors you can do in your sleep.
factory wis on the mbusa dvd(do not get off ebay) or alldatadiy.com of if you have done brakes before you will have no problems.
Wait till they hit you for >$500 for the spark plugs that you can change yourself in under two hours and at the local auto store run 2.79 each for the oe plugs.
Diys for most m112 and m113 engines on benzworld.org w210 section and mercedesshop.com
Change your trans fluid if not done yet,mb spec fluid and filter.
any other tips pm me
I hate seeing people getting ripped by the dealers.

reset procedure is in your manual or google " fss reset ohlord"
don't forget you can get the obd2 scanner from hb tools above link item 94169 and read and clear your own codes when you eventually get a check engine light. It will pay you back 20 fold avoiding one trip to the dealer for something you can diagnose and repair yourself.$60

I can see an advantage if your milage is "tracked"... When I first picked up the C32 I went to the dealer and they printed out my service intervals and showed every time it had an A/B done... Needless to say it was current and had only been serviced at the dealer. I think that would be crucial if I ever need to sell the car... People know stuff for mercedes is expensive, so they want to get a history.

Now am I saying go to the dealer... its up to you. Keep in mind incentives as well. They sent me a 50 dollar coupon for service in the mail and if you schedule your appt. online my local dealer gives 15% off. It is still more than the $100 it costs to do it yourself, but eh...

Also included like 7 day rental payment.
And that didn't include the Wheel alignment. MB prices in Aus are much higher than the US can't buy a C32 much under $60K. since then I have found a local shop that specializes in MB will be trying them out next

On a newer car, perhaps. But on our 4-6 year old C32's - I doubt it. We will all be lucky to get $10K by the time we go to sell. Yet if you DIY you will easily save $250 (multiples over and over by the number of oil changes, etc).

I personally use an independant shop and pay about $150 for the same thing MB charges $400.

Well now that I know how to do that for the future...

I decided to let them get one service B outa me, assuming they did the work they were supposed to, it was fine. However, I was still having a steering issue, the car pulls to the right (I paid $250 for new camber bolts that were supposedly the problem). So I had them check it out again. Anyways, they tell me I need new front wheels because they are bent, though I didn't notice any wheel vibration. One of the front wheels has scratches in it, which apparently happened between the time I detailed them two days ago and the service. Also there is now a nail in one of my rear tires. They wanted me to replace my tires and two front wheels with them. I told them I had bought new tires already and I would go see if I can't get the wheels fixed myself. Anyways, I'm looking to jack up my car just now, and I have no jack points on the front of my car! WTF? There is an area where I see that supposed to have the plastic jack point, but on both sides in the front they are not there. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal for the C55....
