H&R or Eibach
I am wanting to lower my car a little bit to improve handling and make my c32 look good I like the look of MB's that look lower in the front(best way I can explain what I mean) than the back(kind of a downward/slanted look). I was thinking of going with H&R or Eiback sport springs. Any suggestions on springs? I am open to other brands and type of springs too.
so cliff notes:
1. Looking for best springs for Handling
2. Looking for best springs for looks(lowering, and that downward/slanted look).
3. Open to any other opinions and/or suggestions for different setups.
Thanks in advance to everyone,
See Ya

To get an even fender gap and the "slightly pitched forward" look, you will have to go to a full coilover setup. The following all seem to be fairly well regarded options for C32's (in order from cheapest to most expensive):
H&R Coilovers
KW Variant 1
VW Variant 2
Bilstein PSS9

my advice...if you want better handling get coilovers
when I was looking for springs I too considered going with Eibach but when I tried to order them here in the uk the agent told me they were no longer available
so I went with H&R instead
I love the drop
but the improvement in handling was less than I expected.
it is a little bit better at taking corners and has slightly less body roll, but it's hardly night and day and not nearly what I had hoped for
I seem to recall that European C32's have a stiffer suspension than US versions which would probably account for my not feeling much difference but I remain pretty underwhelmed by them tbh
also I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my springs squeak constantly
I've pretty much decided when I've finished with my other mods I'm going to ditch them and get some bilsteins on instead

To the best of my knowledge, you WILL NOT get the "lower in front, downward slanted" look with only springs... unless you cut them, which generally is ill-advised. Even if you use the thickest MB spring pad in the rear (17mm), you will only lessen the degree of "nose-up" as far as looks go.

I have H&R lowering springs. (H&R Sport Springs 52732). They do ...OK. They tend to dive in high speed corners. They are much stiffer than stock, however. They also tend to bounce quite a bit on uneven roads. Make sure you get the correct spring pad in the rear (17MM, #4) or you will be lower in the rear a little bit. If it were me and I had the $$$ I would do coilovers just for the ability to adjust. Search: springs; H&R; coilovers, etc, etc. Good luck.

I mean they sink in high speed corners. So if you were entering a right hand corner at 100MPH the car would sink to the left. Its not much but noticeable. Coming back out of the same corner the rebound throws you back to the right. They are more looks than performance I think.

I have Eibach springs, bilstein B8 and H&R sways.
It feels just right, not bumpy yet very good cornering. I would not go for PSS unless i want to do very hard on each corner everyday. Most coilovers are meant for height adjustments for looks to most owners, seldom I see them adjusting the stiffnesss or even height after its been set.
If i were to buy a set of suspension for another C32, i will still go for this set up as this set up is good for the family too including grandpa and grandma.

As for the H&R's, I have them too (with the #4, 17mm spring pads also). When you look closely at those pics, you can see that the front fender gap is still slightly larger than the rear one - it's a big improvement over the severe nose-up look of the stock set-up, IMHO, but it's definitely not even either. That was the point I was making in post #2.

I thought cnchung was busting my chops. Normally when you tell that to someone it is derogatory. Anyway, no worries. Recap: Get coilovers for perfect adjustment and springs for a little lower look.
