C32's, AC not up to MB standards?

My ac needs to be cranked to at least three bars to be effective. Usual MB is much cooler at a lower level. At one bar, there is barely any air being emitted. My C32 has been like this since new. All of a sudden I am curious to know if this is normal or not. Thanks.

Yes, my C32 A/C sucks. It can get cold, but I have to put it up to 4 or 5 bars and then it's really loud at that level. My 84 Camry has quieter A/C.

And I don't know about you, but normally, there's an A/C button for when you're running the defroster? or am I to assume that the C32 is always running A/C no matter what?

Sure glad this car is so much damn fun or all this wouldn't be worth it.

EC Rest turns the AC on and off.

I dont know BUT mine freezes me out , even at low levels and is as good or better than the Arctic cold of my ML55. It even runs cold air after I turn the ac off for more than a few minutes.

No problems with my 02 - even in 110+ heat it gets cold fast!

But the question is, how many bars do you require to get it at a reasonable power?

I usually run three Bars with recirculate ON (since I am just colling internal air) and have no problem with either the 32 or the 55!! My old 430 was a dog on the AC and heat, BUT the 55 will flat out freeze meat and pop popcorn if I ask it too. Its that good.

Exactly. It gets cold. Real cold. Just the amount of Bars that have to be used is what I am referring to. Not a real issue, just an observation. Cause in the past, other cars didn't require such a high setting to acquire such regular amounts of air.

Why don't you just make 10 colder and make 10 be the top number...?

Finally got a chance to make a quick trip to the store in 100+ degree heat today. I was only gone for 5 minutes max so the AC was on the next to last bar the entire time. Temp set to 76, almost hade to turn it up because it got cold fast.

One thing to note though - my C32 was one of the first ones out in 2001 and the AC had odd issues until it was later replaced by the dealer. For example, it would never go into "Max Cool" mode. The replacement unit seemed to fix all kinds of odd electrical problems that the dealer could never figure out. Have had zero electrical problems after the swap...............
