Thumbs up Another resonator delete

I got my resonator deleted this morning and I agree that it is the best $50 spent, didn't take long to do either, took the shop guy only 20 mins.

I really want to hear a video clip of what it sounds like inside the car.

Geez, Victor! You've been yapping about doing this for over a year. Just get off your butt and get it done. It will thrill you even more than the $300 SprintFooler you have.

So, are we just talking about changing the sound or are there any other benefits?

Search for c32's on streetfire.net. I have a video of me doing 170 on the Autobahn with the Res deleted. Add a comment too.

Damn that's fast! I'm not sure I got much out of the video sound wise, but the one where you had the camera outside had better audio for some reason. Kinda just sounded like vibrations and wind noise in the 170mph video.

I will try to get a nice video/sound bite put up so everyone can hear it. But the one you find in Youtube is exactly as advertise, it's not obnoxiously loud but a nice deep sounding, especially at higher speeds...I think the throttle response is definitely noticeable, I have not received my Sprintbooster -AMG version yet but I can't wait to hear the combo working.

As someone here before said that you feel the car being "lighter" well, the resonator is about 12-15 lbs. in weight, so to me I think having it taken off you can feel the car is lighter. But gain in HP, don't think so.

Just make sure to check what the exhaust guy did afterwards, I know my main concern was exhaust leaks, and we have smog test here in TX. Everything turn out to be fine.

And yes, he told me it won't affect the smog test.

For everyone looking to do it, just do it!

yeah I know, but it isn't in the car. I want to hear what a 0-60 or 1/4 mile run sounds like with it inside of the car and if it adds any annoying sounds to idle inside.

S500
I did this to my S500 like a week ago, cost me $100 here, best $100 bucks ive spent on this car, while it is a little bit more noisy on the highway, man you cant beat the sound you get especially when your behind the car. makes it a whole lot funner to drive IMO

and Just today at a red light on my way home from work I had a guy in an E500 ask me what kind of exhaust do I have explained and where did I get it, I referred him to the muffler shop i went and the cost said he was going to have it done asap. You can always have them put back on if need be. mine are still the the trunk lol

I have been getting double takes from alot of people especially those driving a sports car and BMW's haha its awsome DO IT! if you havent

Yea thats true. I had the air on the high setting too so that added to the noise. Just trying to help.

It is a very subtle modification that’s not in any way offensive.

The Mrs. has never even noticed it, and it’s her daily driver. It is only fair to be forthright and disclose that we're well in excess of the typical C32 age demographic. I graduated from the obnoxious exhaust syndrome decades ago.

If it hadn’t been for ScottW911’s resonator thread, mine would still be entirely stock.

Hey no prob, it was pretty damn cool seeing you pass cars on the autobahn like that!

Splinter: the fact that your Mrs. didn't notice it is the kind of response I wanted to hear haha. If I'm driving around business clients or whatever, it is good to know that it isn't far from stock or annoying.
