tyre choice
toyo
goodyear
michelins
dunlop
yokohama
falkens
any other makes i missed out
The Goodyear Eagle F1 was my next choice, but I could not beat the deal. P.S. the KDW 2's are noisy tires, especially on the front. (no circumferential grooves to keep them quiet)
IMHO
1. Bridgstone 050 PP's, BEST grip, good rain, wear out fast
2. Goodyear GSD3, good drip, GREAT rain, good treadwear
3. Yokohama, es100, Good grip, Good rain, slightly noisy, good wear
4. Kumoh's Good grip, good rain, good tredwear, noisy after 1/2, need rebalacned often.
PS: I have posted it a million times now, but one more won't hurt " Friends, don 't let friends buy Michelins"
WAY too expensive for what you get, don't even think about using them for a second season as they get hard as bricks over the winter.
See yeah

I purchased Nitto 555. I rarely drive the car- when it do I'm normally not very hard on it, never in the rain. I just wanted something that wasn't too expensive, pretty good grip on dry pavement for when I do flog it a little, and was relatively quiet. So far I am happy with my choice. I have heard that when the Nitto's start to get a little on the worn side- they start to get noisey. That really didn't bother me, because as much as I drive, they will proably start to rot before the mileage becomes a concern.

I'm on my 4th set of PS2s and I'm tired of them. The grip and handling is great but they wear out fast. I don't like them in the rain either. I was sliding left and right this morning on my way to work. The car was out of control over 55 mph.

anyway...i posted feedback before re the khumo escta spt.
wear 320, symmetric (you can flip on rim to prolong life), ZR (Y) rated =186+ mph. cheap= ~$600 for 235, 265 in 19s.
ride is a bit harsher than PS2s. they feel more precise, but with slightly less grip. wearing very well.
an improvement on the standard F1's and at a similar price
typically you can expect to pay about £100 per corner
I am also in the UK and these work very well with our crappy weather
