? for my fellow gents C55 vs 1 series bmw with chip
Who will win out of the hole. I have a friend with a chipped bmw 1 series and he is going to be in town next week. He's been telling me that this car is a rocket and that he's in the 400hp range. Do i need to visit my friend at his shop for some funny gas
or will I be able to whip his A@#?
thanks
Mike

Only one way to find out! Car and Driver had it pegged at 13.3 @ 106mph stock, which is pretty close to a C55 stock. If it has like a procede or juicebox tune you could be in for a shock.

I'v ran a few 335's. Stock 135 you will take no problemo especially up top. Chipped however you're going to get a tough fight. StageI shouldn't be a problemo even up top, but stage II or especially III will shock you. E92 335's with a stage III are whp monsters. if he has 400 at the wheels, then I hope your mods are similar to C55Asleep?. Ask him for a dig, those cars get crappy traction, make sure to set brake speed at 100mph cuz he will be catching up once he gets traction.
GL! And keep us posted!
What mods do you have btw?

C55 AMG, 135i, 911 GT3, GLE43 AMG
It also depend on whether the 135i is a manual transmission and how well your friend can launch and shift. If he can't launch very well, it is game over, even if the 135i is modded. The beauty of the C55 is it is pretty easy to go fast when left in S mode, as long as you don't screw up with too much throttle too fast resulting in wheelspin. If the 135i is an automatic, then a modded 135i may very well beat a C55.
Although the 0-60mph and 1/4 miles times from C&D are virtually identical between a manual 135i and C55 (4.7 seconds and 13.3 seconds), the 5-60mph time totally favours the C55 (5.5 vs 4.9 seconds), meaning that the launch is ever so important for the 135i to get its maximum potential.

beat one in my LET powered c32 this past weekend up in chitown. who knows if he had any tuning done it was a street race for money so i dont think he was telling me the truth about what it had done, he said "it was bone stock but he had plans for it" i was pulling away from him pretty good on the top end.
