Okay, i finally had tested the tranny (in M Mode).
I guess what I did was to push the rev across the 'red zone'.
The power cut off at ~6600-6800 rpm @106km/h at 2nd gear.
I hope this is normal.
( I was expecting the car could be accelerating much faster at 2nd gear before the 'red zone'? May be I should turn off the ESP for better performance. )

Yes, that is completely normal. In M-mode, the transmission will not upshift even if you hit the rev limiter. When you do hit the rev limiter, power will be cut to protect the engine from blowing.

It has been 50000km, I must admit I had never experienced engine cut off until the day I was trying to take over a CLK 320 C208 and it was so embrassing that my car wasn't going any forward at 2nd gear!
I felt all of a sudden the car is like 'still' and shifting to 3rd gear right away didn't help compensating the lost of power anymore.

For some strange reasons, even since fresh new shocks were being installed and an excellent wheels realignment was done by the dealer, the car is so 'stable' and 'smooth' - the engine is getting so 'quiet' that recently I often unware that I am over 100kmh at just 2nd gear. Pity I should have done the realignment and shocks refresh much earlier so I can enjoy the way it is now.

p.s. havn't come back to this forum for a while, how's your 135i ?
