Axxis Ultimate pads
The front backing plates have the following numbers:
DB 1453 BM 5001 FF 10171267
The rears have:
DB 1241 BM1428 GF 849838
Thanks. If anyone can provide insight as to whether this is how they come (wrapped in plastic denoting "Quality products/Quality Friction") and if those are the right part numbers
HELP!
Its just they were so damn noisy after a while I changed to red stuff's
Not bad for $150 bucks.
U have any clicking when you engage from reverse to drive?
I have that with the second set
Seems all these aftermarket brakes drill the holes for the pin bigger than stock so they dont sit perfect in the caliper. A lot of back and forth motion
The initial bite is SIGNIFICANTLY better than stock, as is the more linear modulation etc. I was really concerned about the reduced surface area of the pad because of the chamfering, but while breaking them in they had no problem locking up the tires on the last of 8 stops from 60-10 (second break in time as I used the same rotors).
As stated before everything is about break in.
I've only driven a bit yesterday tooling around but the breaking keeps getting better and better and better and is significantly better than the crap OEM pads.
I can say that there is probably less dust but again I can't tell because I didn't clean the rims before and breaking them is will create more than average use. I may go hit the canyons today to get a better idea of what's up.
I wish I did this last pad change instead of 1. using OEM pads, and 2. Paying what $400 bucks just for the fronts! BS!
They remind me of the Pagid RS 4-2-1 pads that I first used on the P car. I'll have to have my father send down my motul bleeder for some Motul 600 and maybe SS lines... I guess I could go up there as he has a line wrench as well.

Are you stating that you believe the pin holes on the pads are too large which allows vertical movement of the pads, or horizontal? I would assume the former.
Well, that's not really going to happen if you put the spring clip in before the pins. If that was absent or you didn't use it, sure that will happen.
If you're just referring to some clicking sometimes from the right rear while reversing or in M mode when loading and unloading it abruptly, I've heard that before the pads and some have commented it's an axle issue. I had the dealer check that out and they found nothing including the brake assymbly.
BTW I did see the brembo logo on the front calipers.
Now if I could just find a wrecking yard with 05+ clk55 brakes for a song... I'd be in heaven. I get pissed everytime I see them with someone who probably has no idea about how great they are.
We need to contact Stoptech and have them make an upgrade kit with inexpensive floating rotors 14", SS lines, pads and fluid at a fair price and they'll sell like hotcakes.
Too bad one of the founders that I know sold his share.

Did you?
I understand what your trying to illustrate now
I could try and look at it again but i'm pretty surte i put the clip in before the pins.
i had the same problem with my porterfields which is why I git the Axis.
The tirerack quote i was referring to was there were some instances where brake maufacturers shipped a shim kit to alleviate this problem.
