Axxis Ultimate pads

Just bought a set for the c55 as they're the same as the c32. Can anyone help confirm that they are the right ones??? They came in AXXIS Ultimate boxes with the part number removed from the box with an x-acto. Further, they are wrapped in plastic with "Quality Friction" on said plastic. ????

The front backing plates have the following numbers:

DB 1453 BM 5001 FF 10171267

The rears have:

DB 1241 BM1428 GF 849838

Thanks. If anyone can provide insight as to whether this is how they come (wrapped in plastic denoting "Quality products/Quality Friction") and if those are the right part numbers

HELP!

Just installed and bedded them in. Much better than stock without question. Not a bad improvement and the MB dealer gave me the brake wear sensor for free! BTW c55 only has 2 1 right front, 1 right rear. Wierd. I didn't have to drill out the holes or anything. I did reuse the oem shims with the antisqueel paste. They're actually quieter than the stockers and shed probably about the same if not less. I have yet to clean the rims so I'll let you know.

Not bad for $150 bucks.

I have those
U have any clicking when you engage from reverse to drive?
I have that with the second set
Seems all these aftermarket brakes drill the holes for the pin bigger than stock so they dont sit perfect in the caliper. A lot of back and forth motion

I have zero noises or problems. I put them in myself and painted the rear calipers at the same time, and cleaned the front calipers etc. Total time with screwing around was under 2h for all 4 corners using the MB jack and crap tools. (My father's house where I usually do my wrenching, has a lift and 100k in snap on).

The initial bite is SIGNIFICANTLY better than stock, as is the more linear modulation etc. I was really concerned about the reduced surface area of the pad because of the chamfering, but while breaking them in they had no problem locking up the tires on the last of 8 stops from 60-10 (second break in time as I used the same rotors).

As stated before everything is about break in.

I've only driven a bit yesterday tooling around but the breaking keeps getting better and better and better and is significantly better than the crap OEM pads.

I can say that there is probably less dust but again I can't tell because I didn't clean the rims before and breaking them is will create more than average use. I may go hit the canyons today to get a better idea of what's up.

I wish I did this last pad change instead of 1. using OEM pads, and 2. Paying what $400 bucks just for the fronts! BS!

They remind me of the Pagid RS 4-2-1 pads that I first used on the P car. I'll have to have my father send down my motul bleeder for some Motul 600 and maybe SS lines... I guess I could go up there as he has a line wrench as well.

Moosejaw-

Are you stating that you believe the pin holes on the pads are too large which allows vertical movement of the pads, or horizontal? I would assume the former.

Well, that's not really going to happen if you put the spring clip in before the pins. If that was absent or you didn't use it, sure that will happen.

If you're just referring to some clicking sometimes from the right rear while reversing or in M mode when loading and unloading it abruptly, I've heard that before the pads and some have commented it's an axle issue. I had the dealer check that out and they found nothing including the brake assymbly.

BTW I did see the brembo logo on the front calipers.

Now if I could just find a wrecking yard with 05+ clk55 brakes for a song... I'd be in heaven. I get pissed everytime I see them with someone who probably has no idea about how great they are.

We need to contact Stoptech and have them make an upgrade kit with inexpensive floating rotors 14", SS lines, pads and fluid at a fair price and they'll sell like hotcakes.

Too bad one of the founders that I know sold his share.

my bad too busy typing before thinking.
I understand what your trying to illustrate now

I could try and look at it again but i'm pretty surte i put the clip in before the pins.
i had the same problem with my porterfields which is why I git the Axis.

The tirerack quote i was referring to was there were some instances where brake maufacturers shipped a shim kit to alleviate this problem.

As aforementioned. I reused the OEM shim plates and the Axxis came with plates on the pads themselves just as the OEMs had.

BTW I went to the canyons yesterday. I think I induced air into the system when compressing the pistons. I'll replace the fluid with 600 and bleed it later. I mixed it up with a CGT and a gt3rs. Good stuff. I hung with the CGT (sort of) but never saw the gt3rs
