Oil Change Covered?

I was wondering if MB still covered oil changes under the 5/60K? The reason I ask is I was calling about my extended warranty which expires in 2010 and I thought it expired in 2009. The dealer said your car went out of the 5 year warranty March of 2008. The reason I ask is was my last oil change which was done on 11/2007 susposed to be covered under that? I remember now he looked and said no. Maybe since they only cover the oil changes for every 10k or 15K miles and it did not have that many miles yet since the last oil change?

I know with the Audi they paid for it every 10K miles but I would get it down at 5K. So what would happen is I paid for one and they would pay for the next one. Maybe that is what happened.

Thanks

Stuff like them paying for il changes and brakes is for new only and I don't know if they still do...but the oil change is easy as a DIY.

04 model years were the last to get the free maintenance. And it was for 4yrs or 50k miles. It starts at the in service date.

crap I didn't look at your post closely enough. It's tough to tell if your last one was supposed to be covered or not.

Ya I was wondering the same thing because the car did come with the 5/60 which he said included oil changes. But what it may be is they only change the oil on their tab say every 10 or 15k miles. So maybe the last time they change the oil the car did not have 10 or 15K more miles on it. Like with the Audi they paid for the oil changes every 15K. So if Audi paid for the oil change when the car hit 15K and I brought the car back in when it hit 20K they would not pay for the oil change till the car hit 30K which is there next time to pay.

Well, your first post also states 5 or 60. So depending on what else is wrong in that post, its hard to tell if it should've been covered or not.

Basically, its simple... are you the original owner? When was the car purchased. Four years from that date is when all scheduled maintenance is covered.

Wow another typo I did not even see that. I do not think it matters if you are the orginal owner or not. I think what happened was MB only pays for the oil change if the car has logged so many miles (Like every 10K or maybe 15K) after they last paid. They are not going to pay to change the oil every 5K. When the SA looked I am sure he saw the car had only 5K miles on it since they last paid for the oil change. If the car would of had say 10K or 15K whatever Benz mile req is I am sure they would of paid because it was in the 4/50K time frame.

Thanks

They only pay for every ten thousand miles or so, correct. You don't have to be the original owner. They will cover it regardless. The reason I asked, is then you would know the cars original in service date. That date is when the warranty starts, and covers oil changes at about every ten k interval, or once a year. Basically... when did the warranty start? What mileage did your car have when the service in question was done?
