Just bought these rims

After some major drama with AMG Reps. that i bought not fitting on my C55. I bailed on out on the order.Even though they were a good deal the AMG reps. (black) do me know good if they dont clear the calipers. I was very close to just buying Monolites but that would hurt future HP mods i want to do so I went with Mandrus Millenniums (black) 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 heres a pic. I think its one of the best looking cheap wheels out there. I'm not expecting much out of them. I would have went with 19's but this being a non-forged wheel they would have been way to heavy. I get the rims in on friday here is a pic. what do you think? IF you hate them you hate them. Just want to hear what you guys think.

I hear ya on that... I like the machined lip but thats about as much shinny stuff as i can take. I cant stand Chrome and would never have gotten them if they only came in chrome. I'm going to get rid of more chrome on my car soon

I like 'em hooleyboy - nice choice

IMHO, maybe swap out the "M" center cap for a Mercedes star version... I believe there's a black one with a chrome star, which might look nice with this wheel.

Have always liked the classic, racy look of a radially spoked wheel... congrats on the mod, share pics of them on your car when possible

Mercedes center caps all the way. This is the first step into blacking this car out. I'm not sure how people are doing the blacked out grilles but i want to know. I was also thinking about blacking out the emblems too. Might go with the AMG logo flat badge. I know alot of people blackout there cars but it just looks real good on a Mercedes.

How to you think the 18's will look? I would have got 19's but i didnt want them to kill my performance. fronts are 8.5 will a 255 tire rub? I was thinking about taking my back tires (nitto 555's) and putting then on up front. then maybe going for the back 265? on a 9.5 inch wheel will those rub?

I think these wheels look like a slight mix between Monolites, and carlsson wheels But lets be clear these are no carlsson or renntech wheels. Still look good IMO

I like them! Nice clean design. How deep is the front and rear lip of those offset? Where did you purchase/how much? How much do they weight vs. the stock 17" AMGs....if you happen to know?
Looking forward to pics after you have them slapped on the car.

I would have got the 19's if i didnt just buy new back tires, I thought if i went with 19's my quest for sub 13's in 1/4 would be over the 18's weight is 29lbs for the front and 30lbs for the rears. I like to think i got the best of both worlds with going with 18x8.5 front and 18X9.5 rear. Most likely i will smoke these tires up and get a 265 tire for the rear. 255 will fit but not like a 265 will. I dont know off the top of my head what the offset and stuff is. At this point I just want them to fit. I got them at discount tire. I was told by the rep at TSW that they would ship Wednesday and be in on Friday. So if that happens thats the first step. Then I have to see if they will fit. I was told they will fit, but at this point IDK. keeping my fingers crossed. All I know is if they dont fit Mandrus makes Mercedes rims that will clear the AMG calipers. Let just hope it all works out. I will have pictures Friday if all goes well.

Thanks for the info. My bad on the size, I wasn't paying attention and thought you had the C32 with 17's.
Will 265 fit in the rears properly? I've heard others, both 32 and 55 owners, had issues with rubbing going with a 265. Especially if lowered at all....

I think most of the people running a 9.5 inch rear wheesl use 265 i could be wrong though. IF i'm wrong then i will be in good shape with my 255s.

the 265 should fit fine (depending on the brand) the fenders might need to be rolled. 255 on an 8.5in rim is a stretch. I'm running a 235 and it's fine, I believe the max should be 245 on an 8.5in. I don't know if it will rub anything since its a CLK front end, but the tire's sidewall will be mushrooming over the lip of the rim.

I thought of this today after i bought the rims I was going to put the 225's on the new 18x8.5 fronts but i felt that would be stupid so i sprung for some new 235s for the front

Here's some pics of my C200K Sport blacked out, so should give you an idea of what a W203 will look like. My Kleemann TS-7's are in the bodyshop at the mo being painted black gloss on the insides so will replace the AMG III's in the pics that are now on my C55.

I have also looked at the black Mandrus wheel same size as you have got, and also wondered about the rear rubbing on 9.5 with 265 so i am settling for a 255, and 225 on the front as my Kleemann's are 8.5 all round and i had no problems with rubbing on the front with a 225. Hope that helps, and post pics when you are done plus final tyre choice size.

that looks killer. I was told a 225 on the front would be stretching it on a 8.5 wheel. You will like the 255s on the 8.5 I have 255's on my rears right now and i like them. I like the blacked out grille. I was thinking about doing the same but maybe flat black.

225/40/18 is okay on 8.5 and certainly not streched. Here's a pic of of a 225 on my Kleemann TS-7 (C200K Sport), which are 8.5 all round and i have never had probs running 225's on the front. I would definately run 255's on the 9.5 rear as less chance of rubbing

Also just got my C200K Sport back from MB Approved Body Shop had C55 Exhaust conversion done - new tyre well, heatshields, complete with AMG mid section muffler and AMG tips. First impressions sounds better with the Kleemann header and cat and certainly looks a lot better.
