change pads when lower with just springs?

I am reading up on old threads of people who did just springs. I am curious, do I have to change the stock pads to achieve a better look? cause clearly the front end is much higher at this point. I assume the only way to tell whats in there now is when its up in the air with the wheels off right?

C32 or C55? When I changed the springs on my C32 to Vogtland springs I never changed out my spring pads/shims. This probably is somewhat dependent on what springs you use though....

I have H&Rs with a #4 rear pad. Don't have them installed yet though. Was going to replace the rotors at the same time.

Thanks Frank! I knew you'd come thru! So basically I am just gonna get the springs cause I was most worried about getting the front low.. not concerned with the back at all. Thanks again!

you need the pad to keep the rear from bottoming out and/or rubbing. if you just do springs in the front and leave the rear stock, your handling will be all screwed up. You will want the #4 pad I was talking about earlier....

Hey. So my factory suspension doesn't have the pad? I need to go buy one?

Thanks... I was just about to ask if I could lower just the front. Appreciate the clarification.

What wheel size do you have? I have 19s with HR springs. I had to replace the rear rubber shim pads to next thicker size to prevent rear tires from rubbing the fenders (which I had already rolled btw) only when you have a full load of adult passengers. By myself, no problem at all.

Factory suspension does have a pad. I beleive it is a #2, but as mentioned, you can tell by looking at how many bumps it has. #4 is the thickest pad the dealership has. They are cheap also. I bought a pair from the dealership for about $25.

Stock. No plans to go bigger either. I just hate the wheel gap in the front.
