I would say go with the SLK55.. It's the most fun car from your list... 335s are great overall as well..

What about an E55?

The cars you listed below are different from each other. I would choose a car based on my life style. If you can get away with 2 doors and 2 seats that is very fast why not a C6 Vette? If you want to give up a little power but want more luxury and still the 2 seats and 2 doors go with the SLK55 or SL500. They will be slower than the C6 vette but more luxurious.

Now the 645 is a great car but it is a boat. With the 335 you can throw $800 at it for a tune and you will have a monster that beats most cars on the road.

The questions would be how many doors to you need?
How many seats do you need?
Are you going to Track the car?
Are you going to mod the car?

I am sure there are more questions but these for a starter should narrow it down to the same group of cars and then choose from there. The ones you list below are very different from each other and IMO shine in their own way.

Let us know how you make out selling the C32. I have been trying to sell mine and get into something different myself.

it seems like you really want a drop top from the list of cars you're looking at. my pick goes to the SL as wel but I'd stretch my budget to get a SL55 or 600. the slk is too small for my taste.

I would also suggest an E55 but from your list of cars it looks like you want to stick with a small car. Are you looking for practical, performance or just a small fun car?

Out of those, I would go with the 645i or SLK55. The 335i has potential but it seems silly to me to go from a C32 to a 335i when they are so similar.

PS How much for your rims?

1. Buy a low mileage e46 M3. Prices are dropping like dead flies on these cars, or

2. Buy a 335i - as mentioned, endless tuning capabilities and best for the $

well...im leaning towards something like a coupe.
since i dont really need to haul people around.

its just i feel like mercedes's reliability is poor durin 02-04..it seems to be that things have turned better after 05, and i never tried owning a bmw....

i did look at E55's before, but it seems that its heavy, and gas thirsty car..

im still open to suggestions...im going to take my time..

thanks!

haha what!? E46 m3? U Gota be kidding.

From your list I'd go with a 335, slk55 and I'd consider an 03-04 e55. Goodluck!

I'm interested in your shifter knob btw, and what do I need to put frosty xenons on a halogen c32?

By looking at your sig, I can tell you are not going to keep your car stock.

My vote goes to the 335i coupe and mod it progressively.

335i all the way. Dinan has a warranty on their tunes, and thats more that most other tuners will offer. Go with the twin turbo. You can make it a monster for kinda short change.

Dinan???? Are you serious????
Dinan is well known for offering THE worst bang for the buck in the BMW world.

There are other tuners, such as VISHNU that offer far greater performance gains at a fraction of the cost of what Dinan charges.

Better yet, call Jerry @ LET and he will hook you up

I just said Dinan has a warranty on their tunes. I didn't say run out and buy their tune. Its true what other tuners are backing their tunes if you car sh*ts the bed due to the tune. My post was not about going with Dinan but just throwing out a tuner that can up the HP numbers by a large amount.

yeah, that pano roof is sweet, but I wish they would put a cover over the folding arm mechanism bracket, what ever you call it. It just looks like something is missing and all MB did was make them black chrome. I hate the look of that exposed mechanical stuff.

335i

If you want a hell of a looker but still pretty quick the SLK55
335i is nice but just about any regular perspective buyer can get one new and if you put them side to side the 335i just don't give you the aww feeling like the SLK55 will.

Keep in mind if you are into just cruising and quickly when needed the SLK55 will give you that. 335i is sort of becoming a kids tuner toy.

If you trade up why not AMG to M

unfortunately BMWNA is tossing Dinan to the curb in favorite of their own BMW performance line of products in the US. Most of the once Dinan friendly dealership that had a Dinan office are all gone now. You are only left with Dinan's own warranty which isn't that great instead of the BMWNA honoring the warranty.

I agree with you but with Dinan your car is covered. You go throw a VF S/C on your bimmer and the car blows you are SOL. Now if you have the Dinan S/C you are covered. I myself went with the Dinan tune on my 540 because the BMW dealer said since my car is under warranty that is the only company that will not void my warranty. I guess I should not say void the warranty but they will not deny any claims that the tune may of caused. Now if I went with a 3rd party I would be SOL.

But I do agree they are way over priced and do not provide the power the other tuners do. It was more a safety net that made my decision on Dinan.

Wow Frank I did not know that. They must have done this in the past year or so. Like I mentioned in my post the reason I went with Dinan was because my BMW dealer had no issues with using them and my BMW warranty. The dealer said they work hand and hand. Well that was back about 2 years.

I agree with you completely
I myself have owned two s/c BMW's (e39 with the VF kit - no problems whatsoever, except for CARB) and I currently own a VF Stg 2 e46 M3 that makes 600 ponies.

Out of curiosity, do you post on Bimmerfest, and if so, then what is your screen name? Shoot me a PM.
