Which fog light should I get?

Hey guys, I read up on the fog light threads, and don't believe this question was covered. I have a C55 AMG, and I've enclosed two pictures of my fog lights.

My passenger side fog light was broken, and I want to order online. I've got two options:

http://www.mbpartswarehouse.com/part...668+11921+9209

Since I don't have the HID fog lamps, I would have to purchase SKU# M107553. My doubt here is that the pictures (even the ones with the AMG styling package) I feel look nowhere near what is installed in my vehicle. I would like to hear your opinions on this matter. Thanks.

i think its still a dealer only item. none of the pics on that page match the c55 fogs. fwiw, i always thought that mine were breaking from stones etc. turns out it was from driving in the rain with them on. i got out of my car in a thunderstorm, and heard a "pop", looked down and they each had a circle in the middle of the glass. the cold water ran down the hood, and touched the hot glass, $250 down the drain...

I was browsing through this thread,

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...&highlight=fog

and you mentioned that the PN for the fog lamp was 230 820 05 56. Well, I did a search, and found the Hella brand as mentioned, here:

http://www.germanautoparts.com/beta/...2/8810/5342387

Would something like this work? Thanks!

Souljas, if you get these fog lamps please let us know how you like them. I've replaced the LF lamp twice in 2 months at dealer price.

OK, will do. I just ordered them for $62.11 (you get 2). The dealer was quoting me $176 for one with a total installation being $364!!!!!

I'll keep that in mind if I ever head down to NJ!

Now, once it arrives, I got to figure out whether I should try to install it or not. My dealer told me he would charge $120 per hour to fix it. Being a dealer, he will probably try as hard as he can to get out at least a hour.

install is cake. take off the surround around the light, take off the front wheel, remove the inner fender welll and unbolt it. its pretty straight forward.

You certainly don't have to take the wheels off to install the fog lights. It's a very simple installation with basic tools, from the front. Just remove the mesh grills, remove the fasteners, unplug the light harness, and pull the light out from the back and underneath. Take a little manuevering, but it's simple. I had mine on a lift when I did it so I could stand the whole time, but I feel quite certain it can be done w/ the front end jacked up a bit, and you'd just lay on the ground.

I bought OE style replacements at Performance Products website. Here's a direct link.

Xenon Fogs

Hey everyone,

I swapped the stock fogs lamps for xenon fogs and i LOVE the look, and have had great feedback on it (especially when driving at night with just the fogs and auto driving lights on, looks super aggressive). the blue hue is slightly less bright than the xenon headlights (i think 5000 vs 7000), but the offset looks great.

the xenons were very easy to install by removing the mesh grill and getting in from under the front bumper (if you have bigger rims, as i have 19s, the space for your hand can be a little tight). also, the best part? the lights were $70 total for just the parts, and i had a buddy install them in about 30-40 min...

i'll try to post some pics...

good luck!

I just received my product today. I thought I would receive two and I emailed them concerning this.

They ship very quick, and the product is exactly as mentioned at their website!

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, I took some pics of it FWIW.

Also, AMG Sleeper and who ever else, please post some pics of the install if you have any. That would be great since I plan to install tomorrow or this weekend. Thanks!!!

Yeah, I got an email stating the "2 Per Car" indicates that 2 of these parts are used on the car. I misunderstood.

They have quick shipping as I ordered on Sunday and got my package on Thursday.

I'm going to probably wait for a bit to see if someone is going to post some pics of an installation. If not, I might have to read up on it. I've seen a couple of fog light threads where the installation steps are mentioned. But what can I say, I'm a more visual person .

Glad I could help 03SilverCobra. Are you planning to install yourself? If so, it would be great if you could post some pics.

Question

Hello all...

Based on souljas' find, I am thinking about getting this from germanautoparts.com, but I notice it says ML350, and "not used with Xenon".

I have the "Bi Xenon Lighting Package", does that mean I can't use these?

Part number: 230 820 05 56
Brand: HELLA
Fits: ML350
164.186- NOTE: Only used 164.186
with AMG (Code 772). 164.186
Not used with Xenon 164.186
Headlights. 164.186

Sorry for the late reply. If you email them, they respond very quickly.

Hey. I haven't installed mine yet. The dealer is asking $130 for installation. If you have any pics, that would be great.

I'm willing to pay someone to do mine on the forum. I live in Virginia.
