EGR Block Off Plate from TVT Design

I was just browsing the TVT Design website and came across the "EGR Block Off Plate."

http://www.tvtdes********/inc/sdetail/586

Does this actually increase the horsepower or just help prevent heatsoak and ensure consistent horsepower?

Also, if it throws a CEL, is there a way to clear it? Like resetting the battery through unplugging it or clearing it using some kind of OBDII reader?

EGR doesn't function at WOT, so no effect on peak hp. At part throttle it allows more spark advance, so if you get rid of the valve you'll have more problems with detonation.

+1 on the wide open throttle part. Also, as it is an emissions piece, if it is NOT functioning it would HAVE to throw a CEL. The little gain you might get from less heat would be minimal at best. I will stay away, IMHO.

See yeah

Yes you will get a CEL, on a DD car this is an unnecessary mod. It helps keep the intake clean and cool. Less oil in the manifold, equals better effective fuel octane.

These, along with the AIR plates, are more for the track only guys. There seems to be a lot more of those in the Crossfire crowd.

The C32 does not have a EGR valve.

Yes, I was assuming this question wsa for the C55 or N/A motor. They do however have AIR pumps.

It states "The result is more consistent HP and improved throttle respone" not increase and "Off Road Use Only!"
