time to RANT!...about my pump...

5* better now than when I had the CM30 pump.
I guess the dealer isn't always better. Damn.
5* better now than when I had the CM30 pump.
It’s been a while since posting in this thread.
Some updates regarding marginal intercooler fluid pumps...
Damned if both the Bosch and Johnson aren’t prone to intermittent failures.
Though pretty good about regular data logging, they can die outright at the most inopportune times. Doesn’t take supercharger disengagement for a weak pump to negatively affect performance.
Imagine my angst when cruising at ~80 up the Grapevine (after a 105° track day at Buttonwillow) in caravan with nlpamg’s M5 and MJ50’s E55 only to have yet another CM30 bite the dust!
For such a seemingly simple piece of hardware, it’s odd mine has been through four pumps (two Bosch and two Johnson) during its ~100,000 miles.
Seems replacing ‘em is another task on the DIY Service B checklist.
I noticed that my delta between ambient and IAT temps is about 5* better now than when I had the CM30 pump.

original quote was $1720 for JUST the fuel pump job lol!! my service advisor is leegit!!!

Mine consistently records ~25° Fahrenheit above ambient during steady-state highway cruising. It’ll climb to 170°+ when subjected to repeated 70-120 pulls during HPDE events.
Haven’t yet plumbed a dedicated fluid circuit, though I’m almost certain my LET/Eurocharged heat exchanger is contributing its fair share to the cause.
That, and I envy your solid 12-second performance.
