240's modified intake manifolds

Here are my results so far with the newly installed modified intake manifolds from 240M3SRT6. I posted pics of the manifolds installed in this thread...

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c55-amg-w203/265987-240m3srt-s-moddified-intake-manifolds-available-gain-32hp-25tq.html

and pics below.

I went to PIR on Wednesday night and got four runs in on the new mani's, new LET tune and DR's. Time slips are below.

My previous best was 12.5 @ 112.6mph and with the mods I did a 12.2 @ 111.4mph. My 60' times were pretty good at 1.8 but the track felt a little greasy. Especially the second two runs. When I get back on Woodburn(next season) I think I will get much better numbers. They prep the track very good.

I was checking the install today and found one hose clamp loose at the Y on the drivers side and it would not cinch down. Got four new ones to fix that. I also think I need to put some miles on the ECU with the new tune and mani's. I will setup to get on the same Mustang dyno I have been using and get the new numbers asap. I need to see what my AFR is now and make sure it is good.

All in all I am very happy with the new manifolds. The car feels much faster and stronger. Unfortunate that we got this done at the end of the season up here. Rain today, rain tomorrow, etc. etc. That also means I cant play on the freeway either.

MikeR

I will add the dyno numbers here when I get them.

Cool but I'm sure most of us around here are only interested once they go onto a C32.

Glad to hear you're happy with the manifolds, but the numbers indicate you actually lost power overall. Your MPH is lower than your previous results. I imagine the loose hose clamp probably has something to do with this and weather could always be a factor. Your E.T. is very good so you're obviously driving that S.O.B. right

Why would that be when it's the same engine? I look at all C32 and SRT-6 engine mods as applicable and transferable to my car unless there's a fitment issue.

Bingo - that's what have most concerned, IMHO. However, C3P is currently running a set... so it's definitely doable; but sounds like the fitment just isn't 100% yet on the driver's side.

My thinking is that Brandon's R&D assistance will get these to a point where one template/version will be perfect for C32's, like the one that already IS essentially perfect for the SLK32 and SRT6.

EXACTLY....I would love to see fitment pictures and some dyno results on a modified car. I have a hard time believing that they will add much to a car like mine...

They fit fine. Let me clarify. Your intake will be the thing that might require modification.

An intake is easy to modify, where as the design of the modified manifolds can be done no other way.

BTW ill be the first to say the manifolds full potential will not be reached until you upgrade you other bottlenecks, intake, pulley, tune...etc.

Dyno results in....

Just to follow up with you guys on my dyno results. I just got back from the dyno. Here is the graph. This is on the same Mustang dyno I have been using.

Previous dyno: 313whp max 310wtq max
New Manis: 325whp max 343wtq max

Mods: 181mm pulley, SL55 intake, LET tune, 240 mod manifolds, separate IC cooling, resonator delete.

I dont know what the delta is between DynoJet and Mustang but have heard 15% to 20%. At 15% that would put my max whp at 373whp and 394wtq. I guess I will have to find a DynoJet and see for sure.

I have about 250 miles on the new setup and the car feels GREAT! Everything here is wet these days so I can go out and give it a good test. What driving I have done says the car is quicker and stronger.

I will send the data file to Jerry and see if he thinks we can tune it up more. You can see my AFR was 12.5 to 12.9 on the dyno and the boost was at 18psi. I hit 20psi at the track before the modified mani's. I am VERY happy with the mod and it took my 1/4 mile time from 12.5 to 12.2 on a track that wasn't prepped. Did I mention that I was happy?
