Anyone tried lease end purchase price negotiation?

Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone has success in negotiating a better price for their lease end purchase?
My C55 will be up dec with a buyout amount of 28K but MBZ financial wont even discount $1. Actually I dont really care since I already leased a M3.
Only if they go down $5000 I would purchase the car.

Cheers

Return the car and give the sales manager your card. Tell him you will be back when it hits the used car lot at $23k or less. But they only have a week.

You will probably end with a car theat has recieved its scheduled service, all repairs made and maybe a CPO? Good luck!

Btw... where is the dealership and when are you returning the car?

yeah just go with calspeed said. Its defnately a buyers market. I bet he'll call you back within a week. Almost every automaker is down 20% or more in sales compared to last yr. Even the invincible Toyota was down i believe 28% last month.

Think how tough it'll be for the niche luxury market.

If you let it go in the used car market, you can probably get a lot cheaper then what your buy out is. No one's buying v8's. Unless your selling a prius, corolla or civic...everything's going for a pretty big discount.

Thanks for the reply.
The car will be returned to Autobahn Motors (Belmont).

Only problem facing it is that if the car is priced more then current market value Autobahn Motors will just give it back to the bank(in this case MB financial) and have them put it in auction as they would not want to sell the car for a loss or very little profit.

This is coming from a ex-F&I guy.

I feel for you. I bought my C55 outright but I leased my moms 06 c230 this car has 20000 pampered miles not one single dent, and the MB won't lower the buy out not a penny. *****S! If it wasn't that my car is just the way I want it and I have extended warranty till 2013 or 90,000 miles. I would go get an M3 too. Much better hardcore sports car. Congrats

Agreed. No way that the dealer is going to buy out MB on that car. Too tough to sell and 28k is a quite a bit over auction wholesale value I suspect.

Easiest way to figure out wholesale value on a car is to look at the current KBB trade in value. And figure about $5K off of what the "fair" value says. There you get "wholesale" value.

Cant blame the dealer, thats the way a lease works. If you want a discount wait until it hits auction and some other dealer buys it for less from the bank.
