Exhaust Project Questions
The setup goes like this: VRP headers, factory cats, true dual from the 2nd cats down to black series mufflers. All necessary miscellaneous are also in place: spare tub, heat shields, hangers, mounts & clamps.
I have a slight issue with my exhaust tips. I have an extra set that I can use along with my current tips, BUT, the "///AMG" lettering is a bit smaller. I'm still debating if I just used that or...
1) If you have the choice for tips? What would go with? I would hate to pose but I really like the Kleemann trapezoid tips or the Posche ones...
2) Do I need to mix the flow somewhere? X-pipe? If yes, why?
Your feedback is always welcome, Carlos.

Speaking as someone who already went the quad exhaust route I would recommend going OEM as much as possible.
On my first attempt I went with Evosport headers then stock to the Y pipe after which I had a custom stainless exhaust made including stainless round tips.
it looked great and when at WOT sounded great too.

Unfortunately the noise it made while just cruising was frankly unbearable,...it made a horrible droning sound which had me turning the volume on the stereo up to try and drown it out
I returned the car to have another muffler fitted but it made very little difference.
The problem is that the c55 spare tub has odd shaped and fairly small receptacles for the mufflers to fit in which makes creating a custom exhaust difficult ( the c55 mufflers are triangular to fit the space ) and they need to be fairly large to cope with the noise from that V6 up front
I also felt as though I had lost some torque with this set up with the car not seeming to pull as well as it had done before.
I kept the Headers but decided to ditch the custom exhaust and went with the C55 set up instead, this gave me the sound I'd hoped for + returned my power to where it should be
If you decided to go with custom tips but wanted the AMG lettering you could always get them laser etched

cut was made with a coping saw
to make it easier it's best to do it with the bumper removed
when I did mine the bodyshop were fitting the new spare wheel tub and had already removed the bumper so I just took it with me
I took measurements of the original cutout so I could transfer them to the other side then placed masking tape around the area to be cut to avoid damaging the paintwork and give me a surface to draw on
I then made a cardboard template to match the original cutout , flipped it over and placed it where it needed to go for the new cutout, drew round it and then made the cut just shy of the line, sanded back to the line till smooth and removed the remaining masking tape
the new cutout is hampered slightly due to falling where a plastic bracket sits on the inside and this needs to be cut through slightly as well (at least it does on UK spec cars)
