Full SL55 intake vs Code3 Intake
I just finished installing the full SL55 intake, which includes the larger hoses, larger airboxes, and of course the SL55 splitter. Had to do some nice work with the dremmel and whatnot to make it fit, but looks decent now. I drove it (though briefly) and am not entirely sure as to the gains. I feel that I may have lost some low end with the Code3 but gained some topend with the full SL55 setup.
What do you guys think? Anyone experience the difference between the Code3 intake with the otherwise stock setup and the full SL55 setup? Any opinions about the two?
What about running the SL55 hoses and airboxes with the stock C32 splitter with the Code3 intake on it? Maybe this would keep some bottomend AND maintain some topend as well?
I will be purchasing K&Ns to replace the stockers for the 55 boxes and will hopefully see some more power there. I'm thinking maybe an additional 5-6 whp? (i think i read this somewhere)
Also, but off topic, when I removed my Code3 intake, i noticed it was a little dirty. What is best to clean it? I have my K&N filter cleaning stuff. Is that ok, or should I use something different?
NOTE: to all the C32 guys running the SL55 setup (full one), i was able to run the SL55 hoses WITHOUT cutting or splicing. they fit find into the air inlets/radiator support area. just had to work it through a little bit

This is interesting. I'm actually curious myself before I go pick up a Code 3. Then again, maybe I shouldn't have bought those Green filters so quickly...

Drove more today. DEFINITELY feels faster than just the Code3 intake. A lot more topend.
I will take some pics later of setup. I am curious as to how people were unable to fit the SL55 tubes through those radiator support air inlets without cutting them. A little gentle force and guiding is all it took. I have slight fitment issues on the driver side part of the splitter. it is kind of scrunched up next to the firewall. I need to find a way to "unscrunch" it.
