Just wondering other than profit why both C3 and LET, lets throw in Needswings as well, would decide to create their own intakes instead of just doing the SL55 intake?
they are all of different designs and different looks.

True but I just re-read Jerry's old LET intake post and this is from the first post...

Keep in mind that this is 16whp more than the SL55 splitter and K&N filters. This wasn't a stock intake we were comparing with.
so question is was this the SL55 box he was comparing it to? Anybody know?

also interesting find at Crossfire (post#10); 20hp dyno'ed from C3P (Pulley + Intake) only 7hp (intake)

if i remember correctly, the LET intake made 16whp over stock on a dyno dynamics. where is the thread with that quote?

Heres the link;

https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ost-ready.html

It may be 16whp over SL55 splitter + C32 boxes but we dont know for sure.

it is the y-splitter + the C32 airbox only in the comparison. I don't think jerry had the 55/m113k airbox.

aahhh.. so if thats the case; The Let intake is 16whp + gains from the Y-splitter/C32box combo...according to Vadim's post
We have tested the splitter before on a stock C32 and only have seen gains in 3-5HP range
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...3-r-d-8-a.html

which now puts the LET Intake at 4-6hp shy of the SL55 setup. I guess I'll be installing my dual intakes after all.. C3P intake anyone???

I'll bet that hp difference is due to sucking in hot air vs cold.

yea, either the LET intake or the 55 setup will have improved gain on the top of the range. sometimes intake mods will have hard time showing gains if the amount of airflow is not simulated when doing the dyno.
