so just out of curiousity
Could use downpayment for a new C63
Personally, I would ditch the old one and get a C63.... C55s are getting old...
1.) Set up of the blown C55. If you keep the stock pistons then you will be limited on how much boost you can run on pump gas. The ultimate set up will be running the exact set up of the E55 in the lighter C55 body. This enables much higher boost and power levels. My bud's E55 with pulley headers, ECU and drag radials dynos 591 hp & 660 ft-lbs torque on just motor and no NOS and trapped a 11.05 ET @ 124.9 mph.
2.) Traction will limit how much power you can get to the ground in a blown C55-K which will make it harder to launch than the E55 or C63 in my opinion. Even with drag radials you will have your hands full. Getting 600hp to hook in a street car is a trick. I watched a C6-ZR1 with the new supercharged engine trap a 12.24 the same day that the E55 ran low 11's. The Vette was on street tires and was still spinning in 3rd at the 1/8th mi pole. the older C6 Z06 traps low 11's with 100 less hp. A turbo 911 ran 10.90's but he had 4-wheel drive. Power to the ground will tell the tale.
More power does not guarantee faster ET's. But it will be fun to try, lol. I love the blown engines but they make so much torque down low that they tend to blow the tires away really easy and unlike a manual trans they want to shift as soon as the engine hits redline making it a handfull until you figure out the best launch. The C55-K has the potential to be faster but until you try it we will not know. So far, I have not seen any Kleeman SC'ed C55's running higher than hi 11's. Sounds to me like the modded C63 will wax them but a bone stock C63 running low 12's might be beatable. Could come down to a driver's race. At the track the C55 might win but on the street I would put my $ on the C63 cause it will hook up better. My 2 cents
