That looks like a much easier install than the 55K compressor. I'd suggest selling the 55K compressor and either going with the centrifugal blower or a turbo.

e240TT was successful at installing 2 turbos and is putting down some very decent numbers at .6bar [8.7 lbs] and that is on a smaller 2.6L V6!

A vortech/paxton style kit would be a cool mod for NA cars as long as the tune is good.

I just found in todays round of phone calls a w210 55 motor with 56,000 miles for $2800. Could be a great motor start a monster motor build project. I can only do one project at a time though so I will have to pass on it, as much as I want to swoop it up. If anyone is interested I can tell you were it is.

You CAN use a self-contained supercharger (like the Pro-Chargers). This is both good and bad. It is good because you don't have to drill and tap the oil pan -- which isn't really a big feat given the scope of all the work needed to install a blower. Making and fitting bracketry is way more tricky. The gear oil in the supercharger fill is better for high speed gear lubrication than typical engine oil with its motor oil viscousities and its rather dirty state. Also, you are not moving hot oil to the blower which then heats it up further than it has to be -- although the amount of heat transfer to the air charge is immaterial given the fraction of a second that the air spends going through the blower. It is bad because the oil needs to be replaced separately (every 6K or so) and is a pain in the butt to drain and fill with the blower installed and the belt and bracketry in the way.

BTW, you DO NOT have to use 0W-40 in the M113 engines. The engine can use 5W-30 and 0W30 too and some of these are listed as acceptable fills in the manual. If you are looking for the last few hp, I recommend using the lightest oil you can find. Although the Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-30 is not listed as MB229.5 it won't cause your motor to fail and I find it very hard to believe that it'll be any better or worse than Valvoline 0W-30 which is listed in the manual. 0W-20 will give even more power! However, we are talking about 3~8 hp here and its not a lot given the 300+ hp nature of the engine. So, I don't know it going overboard with reducing oil drag is worth it.

Have you ever considered buying a (complete) used E55 Kompressor motor along with its ECU?
