make sure you change the filter as well and clean the magnet in the drop pan.

I would also stick with MBZ ATF. Are you still under warranty?
Refer to Splinter's very first post/thread on MBWorld for very useful information and instructions.

I would love to do a full drain including the torque converter, but have not had the guts to try this yet
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I don't like messing with a transmission that is working fine, but all hydraulic/lubricant fluids and filters should eventually be serviced.
1) is this a regular 100K service?
2) should I leave well enough alone, or do the maintenance?
3) isn't $250 a bit much for a filter, fluids and gaskets service?
BTW, I think I have read somewhere that the C32 AMG has the 5 series transmission in it and can handle about 500 hp. So even under full throttle, the C32's 349 HP are only pushing it to 70% load. Has anyone else read about the specifics about this transmission?

Personally, I'd get the fluid changed ASAP.
Transmissions are rated by torque, not HP. Per Kleemann, all 722.6 transmissions fall into one of four continuous load rating categories (IE the transmission will handle this load amount continuously without failure) - 330 Nm (243 foot pounds), 580 Nm (427 foot pounds), 900 Nm (663 foot pounds), and 1000 Nm (737 foot pounds). Supercharged V8's got a 900 Nm box, V12's got a 1000 Nm box, non-AMG M113 V8's got a 580 Nm box and non-AMG M112 V6's got a 330 Nm box. I have no idea what boxes were put in the M112-K and non-K M113 AMG. Although, if you tell me your transmission part number, I may be able to look it up.
I've had my transmission flushed once by a dealer, and serviced once by a dealer. The flush was under $350. To determine if you're getting a deal, you can compare the parts that were used on my car (your parts will be similar). These are current dealer list prices:
transmission pan gasket (part number 140-271-00-80) - $17.50
transmission fluid (part number 001-989-21-03-10) - $17.50 each
Transmission oil filter (part number 140-277-00-95) - $18.00
Lock pin (part number 140-991-00-55) - $0.90
If they simply drop the pan, you're looking at 5 liters, and parts will be about $125. A flush uses more fluid. I don't know about an '03 C32, but I know by 2003 MB stopped putting torque converter drain plugs in all CLKs. That means to change all the fluid requires a flush.
I called my mechanic and he says the job he will do involves the entire fluid (flush) done through the cooling hose b/c these don't have torque converter drain plugs.
Considering that, doesn't $250 seem a little on the cheap side?
He's also going to replace the shift linkage bushing for $30.
Electric Control Unit, its the top piece that holds the solenoids. What happened was that it wouldn't upshift. Star diagnosed this and i had it replaced in 1 hour.
cheers,
