I'm Back - lets see what we can do with the C55
Good afternoon all,
It has been about a year since I sold my Autocross extraordinaire 2002 C32 AMG. With various upgrades and suggestions from everyone on the board I was able to take the standard 286hp/tq wheel dyno to nearly 320hp and 330tq. The power increase came from items listed in my signature, plugs, filters, asp pulley and stage 1 renntech ecu.
If anyone has done any searches for C32 Video's you may have seen some that I have posted throughout the web.
Autocross
Autocross Burnout
The car attended a few national events and had placed excellent numbers on 1/4 tracks ; you can see from this national event posting the 111MPH Trap speed
26th out of 111 cars
------
After having 2 children and a few corporate promotions, it was time to get back into the swing of things. I found a deal I could not pass up on a 2005 C55 AMG one owner, all options avail with 22,000 pampered miles.
I take delivery this weekend and am planning a wonderful 2009 season of autocross and track events to add some fresh video content on the web.
It’s good to be back!

WooHoo! Welcome back into the fold.
I can't wait to see some pics of the new ride and hear what plans you have.
By the way, congratulations on the kids & promotions also.

Congrats. Good to see someone who will take advanatage of their AMG's performance on a twisty track.
Upgrading the C55's power output will not be as cheap or easy as a C32, but you will notice that the stock C55's suspension/chassis is much improved over the C32's stock setup.....(wider front track, stiffer dampers/springs, stiffer bearings, more direct steering ratio, electronic "LSD" when you press ESP Off, etc, etc), which should help if you do autocross or lapping days on a twisty track. The newer "M" transmission mode may help you too if you're keen on making sure the transmission won't upshift/downshift on its own when you're accelerating out of a corner.

I also have a C55. The Kansas City Section of MBCA is planning a 4 day national event in Topeka, KS August 15-18. It will include concours on Saturday, and on Sunday at Heartland Park we will havedefensive driving, autocross, and 1/4 mile drag strip. On Monday and Tuesday we will be on the road course with time trials starting late morning on Tuesday. Mark your calendar. If you are not a member, join MBCA.

The 5.4L in the C55 is essentially the same motor as the E55 AMG, minus the supercharger correct? Is it a different layout? Is there any references to getting a stock supercharger from an 2003 E55 having mechanics do their thing?
I understand that the computer will have to be adjusted, but other than that am I looking at a different platform?

Nah, there's another thread on here about trying that but the bottom line is that its easier to get a kleemann supercharger or just stay N/A.

I live in Leawood. Have also gone to the stadium, Woodlands, etc for SCCA and Crown autocross. Come to think of it I need to renew with SCCA. If you are in this area let me know.
