Is this too much for a C32 AMG?

Looking to trade in the C280 this spring and I had my eye on a C32
but there are not many AMG's in my area and I think this one is over priced?
So yes i say its fairly overpriced. But my guess is if the dealer isnt buried in the car (meaning they havent paid to much for it) hit them with a low offer and work your way up to no more then retail.
Id love to have a red C32!

But..... is it CPO? It may be one year too old for CPO unless an additional warranty was purchased for the car. The mileage is certianly low enough for it to qualify.
As an example, mine is a 2003 with 43k and CPO'd for 1 year when I bought it two months ago.
I hear the 2002 had a few more issues to be aware of. Research and check the cars history if possible. Dont always believe CarFax as they dont always have all of the information.
Bottomline for me. If I were to make an offer for that car. If it had a clear history meaning no accidents. No water damage that I can tell. And the condition of the interior mimics the mileage I would offer $16,800. If it has a CPO then that is worth a couple "K" to me.
Fyi... I paid more for my C32 in the SF Bay Area. But the economy didnt suck as bad as it does now just two months later.

Example, I was in the market for a truck and the one I was watching went +/- $5k over the span of a week and right after I purchased, the "retail" went up an additional $2k according to book.
Cars aren't an investment. Pay whatever you feel is a fair price. That said, use KBB to your advantage and work a good deal while the gettin's good.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Neither one have Nav. Another thing about these cars is that they tend to be driven pretty hard, so if you've found one that's stock and in really good shape then (again) it's going to be worth a lot more. I would start at $18k and work up from there. I wouldn't pay over $20k unless this is a car you just have to have.
Good luck!
