RESONATOR DELETE

Anyone in the Northern VA area had this done? I called around today for my 06 C55 and was told, "We are not comfortable doing that on your vehicle" and "I think your vehicle has two resonators but bring it in so we can take a look." What is up with this area? Any specific shop recommendations would be highly appreciated...Thanks!

i first went to national chain car shop (not sure which one) and they refused to do a resonator delete on my car. they said their "expert mechanic" (some kinda BS) said it would throw codes and mess with the computer and i sat around telling him where all the cats were and O2 sensors were and they just kept saying no no no, you're wrong. then i took it to a local family owned place that my buddy is good friends with and no problem.

Go to some cheapo place. Make sure to claim your resonators, you can sell them for probably as much if not more than what it will cost to remove them. GL!

I went to one of the local muffler shops and they were fine with doing it, although they didn't like the fact that they went through 3 saw blades cutting out the resonator.

I can relate. The guy working on mine went through 5 blades! He charged me more than he quoted, probably because of that.

It was worth every penny.

The place I got my scondary cats deleted at bought em for I think $60-80 or so.

I remember reading a post and someone said that the Crossfire SRT guys are interested in C32/SLK32 resonators and cats cuz they want an AMG exhaust or something. I guess Chrysler's set up is inferior or they just want to brag theirs is AMG...

Try the SRT-6 forums and the C320 guys, market it (+15whp guaranteed, even if not true).

Oh and no offense to any of SRT-6 owners, just paraphrasing a member.
JK don't market it.

Northern VA? Try On Pole Motorsports in MD - guy there named Jon Winters. He's a dealer for most of the big tuners, been there forever, excellent work.

It wouldn't do much of anything for us. Just FYI. I deleted mine a saw little to no difference. Had it been a C32 muffler, then yea, we'd be interested.
