Sprintbooster or Re-tune?
I've got a little money burning a hole in my pocket so here's the deal.
I have been considering getting a Sprintbooster for some time now. I just can't quite make myself pull the trigger on something that doesn't actually gain me any performance. But then I figure isn't the "feeling" of performance almost as important?
Anyhow, the other thing is my tune. When I purchased the car, it had been tuned by the guys at Dyno-Comp in Scottsdale AZ. Elevation 2000 ft. I live in Utah. Elevation 4400 feet. So I'm wondering how much performance difference would there be in re-tuning my ECU for the extra 2400 ft in elevation? Would I see huge gains? Minimal gains? Think it would be worth the $500 to have it retuned?
So there's the question. I'd like your opinions. Sprintbooster for $250-$300 or a Jerry re-tune for $500.

Do the guys at Dyno-Comp not offer lifetime tunes? Or at the very least, a retune for far less? If not, you can never go wrong with a LET tune and with them you will get lifetime tunes. Well worth it. Either way you shouldn't need a tune just because of the altitude.
Sprintbooster is kind of a waste to me, but thats just my opinion. If you have money to burn, have you looked at pulleys, intake, or something else that will actually net you some HP/TQ?

With regards to lifetime dynos or tunes, talk to Hooleyboy. He basically lives there.

Actually, that's not even a question.
LET Tune all the way. That will make your car actually faster, whereas a sprintbooster will just change the throttle response feel.

Again, you won't be tuning for the elevation. It's electronic fuel injected. If you can get the custom tune while on the dyno, that is the ultimate way to go. The LET boys don't dissapoint and have customer service second to none.

Maybe I haven't been clear. When I purchased the car it had all mods done AND a tune done at Dyno-Comp. I think the car runs crazy well. But this is the first performance car I have owned and don't really have anything to compare it to. I'm just wondering if a RE-TUNE for the elevation difference will make a noticeable difference to justify the $500. No mods have been done since it was originally tuned. The only thing that has changed is the location/elevation.
So as SilverBullet just implied since it's electronically fuel injected, the RE-TUNE would be a waste of money?

Judging from your sig., if you already have a Renntech tune (dyno-tuned, even?) and pulley, IMHO you would see a better bang-for-your-buck by getting SL55 boxes (to go with your splitter) or maybe sway-bars, otherwise saving up for headers or a Quaife LSD.

I asked Jerry what he thought about having it re-flashed to accommodate the difference in elevation and he says it will make a huge difference. "A/F ratios should be matched to your elevation." So the electronic fuel injection doesn't do a good enough job in the case?

Chazz, no doubt Jerry is the man and knows way more about this stuff than I would ever claim to understand. If I were in your shoes however, I would skip a re-tune and put that money elsewhere as others have suggested. Then when you have more mods, re-tune for the new mods and have all your bases covered.

There is no more LET motorsports. Jerry used to be part of LET, then he bought it. Then I BELIEVE(I could be wrong) he merged LET with Eurocharged and now they are one and the same. But it's the same tune except that it it evolved over the years and is even better now.
