which configuration is better?? will i have understeer if the front is thinner?

18x8 fr and 18x9 rr is a better setup.
18x9 in the fr , you will probably get some rubbing.
also, check if the offset are the same, i believe they are probably not.

i believe the offset for the rim is the same. so the fender walls won't clear 18x9 in the front?? does 18x9 all "SUPPOSLY" give me better handling?

18x8 and 18x9 is a better combination. You will have more grip at the rear, therefore, better launch. You will probably have to use 245/18/40 tires on 18x9 and 245 tires in the front will be too much. The car comes with a staggered setup, I am sure its more than cosmetic.
