Unhappy very disapointed w/my "NEW" car

my car has just broken into 1200 miles. and now... my key won't open my door, my driver's side seat won't move, passenger side's sun visor light won't lid up... and the voice recognition system's switch is loose.

is this what i get for payin 60K+ for a mercedes?? well...yea... and when i brought it into the dealer.... they won't even offer me a loaner. i had to ask for 1... and guess what i got.... and NICE SATURN!!! :o

just gota vent alittle bit. i get bmw 330i when i brought my old bimmer in for service. and.... saturn is all i get from mercedes.

Wow! Sorry to hear about your problem. Have you tried talking to the GM about it?

Take it to Fletcher Jone's Mercedes or Penske Motorcar in W. Covina.
They have pretty good service.

All cars have bugs... my C32 occasionally won't start, I have to remove the key and put it back in... sometimes the radio will be silent and I'll have to turn the car off and back on. EVERY car has quirks. As far as not getting a loaner, what'd you expect? If you buy one place and go to another, the servicing dealer (which did NOT sell you the car) IMO isn't obligated to give you a loaner.

Agree with this, it's up to the dealership to decide if they want to offer the loaner vehicle service. A loaner could be anything unless you had called in to make an apointment before you bring the car in.

The weakest link of my dealer, Herwaldt in Fresno is that they use ENTERPRISE RENT A CARS. Sometimes there can be a long wait for a car. Unless you ask the service write to upgrade you at the dealer's expense ENTERPRISE wants to upgrade you at yours.
Their fleet ranges from the best of Korea to
mid range American cars.

When I asked the principal why don't they own their own rental fleet he replied of the cost and number of cars they would need.

Do other dealers have their own fleets?

Before I had Mercedes I had Bimmers and they also used ENTERPRISE.

Hello Daniel,

(BTW still smiling after the pulley and suspension?, I bet you are.
Have you faced off with your M3 friend yet?)

My dealer, Smythe European of SJ CA has their own fleet of rentals. I believe I asked how many, and they said maybe 100. They seem to usually give lower cars in same class. So for me it is C230K or C320 normally. The "worst" was a approx 4 year old C240 (in great shape though). Once I was given an E320. I never complain, fact is, I enjoy seeing what the limits are of the others, and reinforce my C32 purchase all the more. It is fun seeing how fast/slow 0-60 comes in a C230K and verifying that the C32 auto really is better.

Their service is very good, and I trust them to get my issues fixed. Sometimes it takes longer than I hoped though (ie an overnighter).

Thumbs up

Rich, How are you doing?

VERY HAPPY with the modifications, car is running VERY STRONG. ZERO complaints. Waiting to hear that they are ready to install a new exhaust system. Haven't had an opportunity to go out and play with my pal and his M3, most likely will have to wait for the first SAAC open track event.
Have you installed your pulley kit yet?
From what I hear from other MBZ owners the loaner car issues are one of the major causes for dropping the JD Power survey results. Wish my dealer was like yours,
but I still rate them as excellent in all areas except the loaner cars. So I reckon
my complaint is very minor.
Take care! God Bless America,
daniel

From what I know every dealership within my area uses Enterprice Rent a Car. I think MBUSA has a deal with them or something, but MBUSA says that it's up to individual dealer to decide if they want to provide loaner service or not.

I know this fiesty, attractive, asian woman who took her Merc in for service and was offered a Hyundai for the day. She pointed to her car and said "I drove in here in a Mercedes and sure as hell am not about to drive out in a Hyundai." They gave her an E320 loaner.... unfortunately most of us don't have the T&A to help us in our attempts to persuade.

A "real man" would have politely notified her, that she was, indeed, going to drive out of there with a hyundai... or she could take the bus.

A real man, does not allow t&a to influence his decisions...

Maybe it comes with age (I am 33), but no woman will tell me what my policies are.

I don't care how cute she is, she can kiss my ***.

In reality, I doubt that his decision was based on T&A as much as it was on the fact that she is a customer who bought her car there and is having her car serviced there. All she was doing was letting him know that she was aware that he was trying to push the crappiest car on her.

As for a "real man".... I didn't think there were any "real men" in San Francisco. And let me guess, "Spankdoggie" is what you do everytime you end up alone after telling that cute girl to kiss your ***.
