According to a reputable and global inside source. I've learned that the 63 engines will be turbo-charged in a year or two.
Looks like I'm officially killing my TT project here and now and putting my name on the waiting list for the next TT C63 AMG.

considering mb had to beg for $2.7billion from abu dahbi and had a net loss of 1.95 billion in the 4th quarter..i find this hard to believe.
But i'll take a i believe when i see it approach.

I've heard everything from a V6 Twin Turbo, 5.5L Twin-turbo to a 6.3L Twin-Turbo. I'm more inclined to believe it will be a smaller displacement TT but who knows. The 6.3 Twin Turbo would be nice...

According to Kleemann, they are NOT proceeding with a Twin-Turbo nor Supercharger application for the 63 engines because MB is already planning the release of a TT 63 for the AMG models.Originally Posted by wawy

Holy Schisse....you mean I need to keep putting off on the future purchase of a C63 even longer? I wanted MCT and now a TT is coming? Is there enough room on the W204 to accomodate the turbos? I assume small turbos like a K03? I wonder how much that will change the exhaust note?

I think it's believable that they would be in the know before other sources like magazines etc. I hope its true as it would be a monster with tremendous tuning ability. The only problem I see is they would likely need to improve the strength of the transmission over the current 7 speed to withstand the additional TQ (Assuming there would be a significant increase)....Originally Posted by AMGSC

Given that AMG's already announced "waving the white flag" on the HP wars, I find a TT 6.2L V8 a bit hard to believe - except, perhaps, in the flagship CL, SL, and S model lines.
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the 2011 or 12 C Class AMG variant was something along the lines of a 3.5L V6 TT.
AMGSC - you've cancelled your motor build with VRP?

This seems really unlikely. In an interview with Volker Mornhinweg (Chairman of AMG), I read how he said future AMG's are going to be powered by more efficient engines, e.g. lower displacement, forced induction, with cylinder shutdown, stop-start function, direct injection, lightweight transmissions, and possibly hybrid systems. He cited also the poor efficiency of the 6.2L engine under load and lack of torque. Not to mention the death of the V12 engine as well.
Until there is an actual press release, I really doubt this.

As someone above stated. The AMG tuning partners would know this long before the public.Originally Posted by DarkXerox

No. I just decided to see what the SC with 17psi can do. Should be done by Mid April.Originally Posted by c32AMG-DTM

air to water IC...and a top mount? Heat soak like you wouldnt believe in that set up (I think so many of us would be staging at the drags with this...right?)-good work though-sounds like a lot of effort into the (mostly) correct set up....
good find too-
oh snap!
