but anyway the car sounds amazing looks like it pulls hard i mean ur trap speed is kinda low 113. but an 11.9!!! serious that means ur on top was evan more crazyer then ur 60foot
do you find that statement any different?

Congrats but wasn't there a 1998 C55 converstion by BenzMac that did a 10.98? Did he remove it?

As for boost, the old Kleemann Autorotor can make up to 26psi safely due to the strenght of the SC internals and the 4x6 lobe design vs 3x5 lobe design of the AMG retro. The AMG retrofit SC makes boost with a 2:1 step up ratio while the Kleemann Autorotor has a 1.5:1 step up gear ratio. I will agree that the new Kleemann Eaton/Roots design cannot make the same boost as an AMG retrofit due to heat soak while the Renntech SC is too small in displacement.

Dragtimes.com removed it. They moved it to the C43 section.

That's the right move; cars should be sorted by their original model, IMHO. Just because you do a motor swap doesn't change the model.

IIRC, there was a w202 C55... but it was extremely rare.

10.98??? Do you mean 11.98?

I was looking at the "fastest benz" list and Josh Hill with an 05 C55K ran 11.997 @ 117.79 in his with only a 1.881 60'

I know for a fact in the future I will beat my own time of 11.98. There is still some work that needs to be done on the ECU. WE all feel that there is more power to be had. I also got in the works 80mm throttle body, Custom SS long tubes, trains upgrades, Driveshaft, cams, Heat Exchanger so... We still have a bunch of things to do. This car is still in a "testing" stage so I think to pull an 11.98 out of the box is rather good... I will get there soon enough. Unless an offer come in on the car i cant refuse.

I was just checking Dragtimes on some other makes like Acura, Honda, Mitsu,Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, Eagle,VW, etc.. and the records are in the 7 & 8 second range. Makes me want to just give up. Some are even fairly late model street legal versions.

However, getting into the mid to high 10's is still impressive compared to what the Exotic cars are posting on Dragtimes.

If I hit low 10's with a late model street legal European daily driver, I will drop the turbo idea and just call it quits and move on to another hobby....Unless Vadim can get me into the 9's on a $8K turbo add-on.

I spent $1500 on my old evo and ran 11.7.
I was playing on modding the c55 but I dont think its worth it.
so i picked up a 91 talon for $900 and spent 5k and now it runs 10's

congrads hooley

nice to see someone think out of the box.

Sounds tempting, Funny thing is My car is still under warranty too, Just used it with no problems.

As with anything thing with me, everything is for sale if the price is right. If it was an SL55 i would do it.

Good luck with that! How are you planning on getting into low 10s w/o the turbo or twin boost setup you were talking about?

Any why don't we get pictures of your ride and project anymore? It's for a different thread, but share some of what's going on with yours in Vadims monster garage.

Visit my other thread for updates. So your'e suggesting it's not possible without turbos? Vadim thinks otherwise. Of course, I would need to do similar things that Ahmad did to lighten the car (CF hood, No spare, Lightweight battery, 16" lightweight wheels and Hoosiers/MTs, modular racing seats) but remember that Ahmad's mods are less extreme than mine and he hit 10.7 with further reductions possible once he gets the TB and run NOS. With 14-16psi of boost vs. BB's 8psi on a rebuilt/reinforced short block I would expect at least mid 10's without juice.

One thing I know for sure though. Hooley/Mike will probably leapfrog me a minute after I get my car done.

Haste is waste I got some plans that are in the works. I have big time cooling mods in the works. I need to get a heat exchanger this week.

Anything is possible. However, I thought you were trying to keep your car looking stock and going with somewhat of a sleeper approach. If you turn it into a Euro NASCAR, the sky is the limit on your possilities.

I had been trying to follow your other posts but it seems like most of those are just thoughts and speculation. Haven't found any recent pictures other than diagrams and possible directions you/Vadim were heading. Maybe I missed a thread along the way.

I'm very happy with the Code3 Heat Exchanger. It's HUGE, has a Spearco core and is a Bar-and-Plate construction vs. the much weaker Tube-and-Fin design. Of course you can always custom build one but why when the Code3 costs less than $450 and mounts right up.
