Weekend Project: Wheel Spacers (pics)
So I recently got tires for a set of new wheels I've had sitting around for a long time, and the fronts wont fit without spacers, so rather than spending the $400 to buy them from H&R I decided to machine my own.

Second one coming along:
3 down 1 left!

unfortunatly no. these were a huge hassle making. and every minute of a 12 hour job (inexperience with these is definitely a contributing factor here) they fit the hub perfectly. but because of the lack of the right cutting bits we didnt get fancy with them. i am taking measurements when these are finished up and going to see if i can get another set machined.

i would caution against using non-hubcentric spacers. You have a high chance of getting a lot of vibrations with non-hubcentric spacers. You can buy mercedes hub centric spacers for $80 for the fronts and i think $100 for the rears on ebay.

sorry for the 4 year old reply by i'm a manufacturing engineer, how come you milled them instead of on lathe? it's an odd way to machine them, just wondering

sorry for the late reply. i dont visit here often. we didnt have a lathe at work. and it was a fun project for me to work on and get experience with using this particular machine.
i ended up scrapping these after not so long after scoring a deep discounted set of h&r's a lathe would have been the ideal machine to use.

I bought my H&R spacers for 120, both front and rear.
Id rather do that then make my own.
Since they are balanced and wont give you vibration.
