Any input greatly appreciated.

Nine years ago when they came on TV, i priced them out and they were cheaper by a considerable amount than progressive. I printed out my documents and i had insurance online.

Then four days later I get a letter stating they had to adjust my premium for bc i drive a high risk car (RX-7) . I was pissed and I wound up breaking even. So i was a little disapointed but i continued on with the ONLINE Insurance newbie..

Then I get another rate increase bc they claimed they I lived in a high risk area with a lot of senior citizens (Miami Beach) which made my premium go sky high!

Needless to say i paid that premium for the rest of the quarter and then i went back to progressive.

Would never use them again, if they were that mixed up during the buying processm can you imagine how bad it would be if you had to file a claim?

Moosejaw thanks for quick replay. I was considernig switching to esurance since Geico just raised my rate $150/6mo, due to increase in accident number in my area and paying out claim on no falt accident on private parking lot (no damage to our vehicle-no tickets issued police report stated no falt could be determined since both drivers were backing out of their parking spots. Some dumb..s Geico adjustor decides to pay out claim from my policy without even calling to verify other parties story). I'm pissed.
My policy expires in the middle of may. I'm shopping.
sorry for the rant but had to release some of the steam.

I had a few experiences with them. They wrote an estimate replacing the bumper on my M3 with a regular E46 bumper. I am an adjuster for a different company and you have to be a horrible estimator to do that.

After they tried to pay me for the cheaper bumper I withdrew my claim because I found a shop to replace the bumper for less than their quote with the worng bumper! When I went to renew they raised my rates because of that "claim," which was comprehensive (should not increase rates)

They sucked me in with that cheap internet quote and then they changed it on me saying I need some kind of good driver letter from the DMV. My record is clean I figured they could look that up since they have my social and my DL number

short story: their adjuster cant write estimates, they have low starting rates and raise them, and raise your rates for comp claims that they do not pay on.

to save a few bucks it's not worth the hassle to use a cheap insurance company. I will only use state farm. I drove my old honda for 3 years and someone hit me and totaled it and they gave me more money for it than I had paid 3 years prior.

Thanks for all the replays.
It seems like they scamming people like all other cheap insurances.

I just entertained the thought of trying to use them, but it is not going to happen. In past 12 years I went from Allstate, Farmers, Geico x2. switched only after ins. company screw up and would not correct their mistake.

Did the same here. Online quote was low, but called in to verify and was higher. Glad I didn't pay online. If you have any family that is military USAA is one of the cheapest around. I use a insurance broker and he just constantly moves me to the cheapest company every year.

I had State Farm for over 10 years and have nothing but praise for them. After getting stationed down south the premium was much higher here for various reason (Katrina mainly)and I ended up going through USAA. I still prefer State Farm but couldn't justify the extra cost they want down here. If I was to head back up north I would go back to State Farm in a heart beat.
Esurance - run away. Have heard all kinds of horror stories about them.

I might stick with Geico since even after rise in premium I'm only paying $678/6mo. for 2 cars full coverages on both with 300/500 policy and 500 deductible.

What got on my nerves was adjustor decided it was my wives fault when she and other lady backed to each other on parking lot. Our Montero did not have a single scratch (really this car is build like a tank), other was kia bull**** minivan that almost fell apart.
Nobody called to verify the story.
On the other hand when I got in to accident (my fault- rear-ended a truck) in 3 month of the policy Geico payed for repairs, rental and raised my premium by $6(six)/6 mo. I know it is not bad insurance company, but it seems it might be going down with customer service.

Allstate has/is known to be horrible when it comes time to pay out (nothing like a kick in the ***** after an accident to your car)-state farm is good (a little more $, but worth it imho), Progressive (who I have used the last 6 years) I have had no issues with (drunk driver hit my wife head on 9 days after we bought a new Mitsu-Progressive was right there the next morning)-Geico is good-but thier commercials are getting on my nerves
I've heard horrible stories about E Surance from my customers (Im an auto lender)-cheap....but like most things in the US-you're getting what you paid for.

I use a company named Madison Mutual out of Edwardsville, IL. Very good hometown insurance with 100m of backup. For the Kleemann, i pay 92m with 100/300/100 @ 250 Deduct

I believe they do business in all of Illinois and Missouri.

They seem to be.
This second time around I have Geico. 1st time it was about 13 years ago.
I had to switch after my father -in -law driving my wives car had accident and totaled brand new Honda Accord (on temporary plates-bought 4 days b4 accident) in my nissan sentra. He wasn't on the policy he just used it for couple of days. My premium went sky high, so I switched to Allstate and used them for 7 years, until agent screwed up when we bought new cars and left me without rental reimbursement (always had that on old cars-but not on new ones-and she admitted mistake). My wive managed to run off the road and hit a street light (damage to the car only)-insurance covered repairs but not the rental.
Car was out of commission for 3 weeks. I did get pissed (excuse my french) and switched to Farmers. Until I noticed increases in premium (no tickets or accidents this time), that could not be explained by the agent or customer support people. And than came in Geico with their premium of 520/ 6 mo. with above limits. Until now after a 1 1/2 years with premium increase explained to me this way:
Adjustor found your wive at fault, therefore we are increasing your premium by $65/ 6 mo. and in your zip code there was increase in accident claims paid by Geico therefore we are rising your prem. by $86/ 6 mo. giving grand total of $152.

If you want to give Warren Buffet more money, go with GEICO (gov employee ins co).LOL
Try Safeco which is now owned by Liberty Mutual Group.
No bait and switch here. Very good customer service.
Two of my MBs (C32 + 190e) under 750.00/bi-annual
with average comprehensive coverage.

I have NJ Manufacturers, which is a quasi-private company that originally covered a small group (as the name implies). You cannot join as a Joe off the street, but many companies eventually were included. It doesn't hurt to ask.
NJM is a company that understands what risk insurance really means - that a premium is set to cover that risk, not as free money like the rest do when they penalize you for actually making a claim. In addition to that, they pay you back profit sharing each year.

And no, I do not work for them.

So I think I got a ridiculous premium here. I use AAA and pay over $2200 for 2 mbz. What is wrong with me? Should I shop now? Is it ridiculous premium or is it just CA?

USAA here, it is SO much cheaper than any of the other comparables despite me having no accidents/tickets. Not sure what it is at as of this year (I know its far less), but even when I was in high school it was under $800/6 months for a 17 year old. Plus they always answer the phone and do a good job of getting someone over faster than MB roadside assistance. It is always funny getting called Commander over the phone too.
